This reminds me of our situation in the old Big East. People started jumping ship to make sure they have a landing spot. If they get majority numbers leaving the ACC, there will no longer be a league to collect the $$. There are enough spots from SEC, Big10, and Big12 to push this scenario. Any attorneys on here to validate this type of situation playing out?

It was questionable a month ago if there were enough spots in the SEC, B1G and Big12 for the eight teams it would take to vote to dissolve the ACC. Even, then, it is legally unclear if that makes the GOR simply go away.

Now that the B12 has gotten to pick at the carcass of the PAC12, it is even more questionable that there are eight landing spots out there.

I didn't notice this when I watched some of Collins' interview yesterday and just saw it in the comments. FSU is supposedly willing to pay 100s of millions in exit fees to make up for the 100s of millions short they will be with ACC tv money. On the side wall is picture of someone burning money. How appropriate lol.

I don’t even understand the logic of paying so much to get out of the ACC it almost wipes out the additional revenue they get from a new conference.

They would have much more national impact if they got their **** together and went on a Clemson-like run in the ACC than they will in the SEC, because they aren’t going to dominate there.

That's exactly what I've always said and how it's not some death sentence and they don't have to die on the vine.

Frankly, it's kind of what I say about all these schools "left behind," let alone a school who has resources like FSU.

You're saying they're willing to pay 100s of millions to get out. You said they've already raised the 120M exit fee. They just upped Norvell's contract to a longer term one that pays him like 7-8M/yr. The president of the BOT in that interview said FSU is 4th in money in the country if you took out tv money.

This isn't a school that is hurting for money and lacking resources.

You also have teams have invested a lot in football that do not want to see themselves become itrelevant.

Virginia Tech, Louisville, North Carolina state in particular. Then there’s Duke basketball, which is obviously massive, and I cannot imagine Pitt/Georgia Tech will want to be left behind either.

We have seen how UConn went from a powerhouse, to an average team, then back to a strong national team, based on what league they were in
I think Duke would figure out the conference jumping and stay strong, but not a sure thing

Nothing concrete yet out of the FSU BOT meeting just more complaints and threats. Will they actually say they're suing to break the GOR?

I never said they’re lacking resources, what I said, was that compared to their peers, they’re not nearly as well off

Then add in the ACC contract vs the SEC and Big Ten over the next 13 years, and you were at a number that is insurmountable if you ever want to compete on a national level for championships again

Blue Bloods generally find a home, it may take a little bit, but it is not good for the sport of two basketball is down

Again, none of this is surprising. The writing has been on the wall for a while, and they will not be in this conference that much longer thank God.
