Trying to be optimistic and assume we get a couple of breaks during the season. We got none last year. If Ash only wins 4 I still would like to see a change unless he beats PSU, OSU or UM as one of the wins.

Hiking would be good. The Pedestrian Mall sounds promising. Is the Old Capital something to visit? is that where the concerts are?
What's your go to place for a good meal...non-chain restaurant .

I think that is right. I would think Hobbs is keeping is short list nearby.

Have to try Fong’s Pizza, we ate at the one in Downtown Des Moines. Sounds very strange chinese food pizza but it was amazing. Also visit West End Architectural Salvage also Downtown.

ANTHONY CAMPANILE
  • Prior to joining the BC staff, Campanile spent four seasons at Rutgers University, including his final three seasons working on the offensive side of the ball, after starting as a defensive assistant during the 2012 season. He coached the wide receivers during the 2015 season after tutoring the tight ends during the 2013-14 seasons. Campanile helped receiver Leonte Carroo earn All-Big Ten honors after leading the conference and finishing 14th nationally with 10 receiving touchdowns. The previous two seasons he helped tight end Tyler Kroft gain honorable mention All-American and first-team All-AAC accolades. Kroft was a third-round pick by the Cincinnati Bengals (2015) and Carroo was a third-round selection by the Miami Dolphins (2016).

    Campanile began his coaching career as a student assistant coach for the Scarlet Knights during the 2005 season. He earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Rutgers in 2007. He was an assistant coach at Fair Lawn High School in 2006 before moving on to work with the linebackers at Don Bosco Prep in 2007-09 and then served as the school’s offensive coordinator from 2010-11.

Hey Wingman:

Do you know what sections are for visitors at Kinnick? Trying to decide to either buy my ticket from RU or on Stub Hub in order to have a good location for The Wave.

Iowa usually gives opponents decent seats on the visitor sidelines, from the 5 yard line out to about the 30. Always pisses me off for us to give good seats in groups then go to Nebr or Ohio St where there are 4-5 people in nose bleeds scattered across the stadium. To be fair, I've never actually looked for visitor tickets at Kinnick. That's just where I notice a lot of them are.

I will be going out to Iowa for the road trip. Wife is from Cedar Rapids so should be a good combo trip. Have been looking forward to this one since 2012 when we were announced to be joining the B1G. Too bad Kyle Flood and Chris Ash crushed our spirit since then.

Looking forward to some Iowa Tenderloins. Also plan on taking the train from Coralville to the stadium on gameday.

We're staying at the Residence Inn and I believe there is a shuttle from the hotel.

That's not true anymore. About 3 years or so they moved the visitors to high up. I used to sit 3 rows up from the main visitor section. Now am 20 or so rows up from there and it's no longer visitors.

The improvement gets overplayed because they looked like a walking disaster under Niemann's tutelage. So they went from total disaster to well below average. I mean if we're trying to build Rome here, then yes it could be considered progress. But really we're just straining for any glimmer of hope.

That's more fair than not. But the general answer is the defense looked improved.. at least slightly. They are constantly put in tight spots by the offense as well. I have no idea how to judge out team. I do think the QB has the physical skills.. and just needs a better system to help him make good decisions faster.
