Here is something interesting:

Miss State has been to the CWS 10 times in their history. They have never won. Their best finish was in 2013 as runner up. They have a chance to make at least that level again this year with 1 more win.

That would mean that both the coaches that led Miss. State to their only two CWS finals appearances would both be former UK coaches.

Sadly, neither of those coaches were able to get UK past a regional.

Yes, but a former Miss. St. assistant got UK to a super regional last year

Can't the same be said of Ole Miss and there aren't many bigger baseball schools in the country.
