When he tweeted...Great win at Northwestern. When was your last meaningful season?!? Shhhh.. When you LOSE say little--When you WIN say less.

His post was spot on. The jackasses that like to attack him are of the same IQ as the Iowa fans who attacked Cowherd. How did that work out for them? They got the attention they wanted – only now they are a national punchline and now known as the fake ID of college football.

He is right asking when the last time was that we won something meaningful. Big boy teams let their actions speak – little boy programs have a bunch of squawker's like the Hawkeyes.

Didnt read his tweet. Dont care what he said.

Will ALWAYS dislike him until he has the class to apologize for acting like a five year old years ago about the 95 team being voted best of all time over Miami and Usc.
If that makes me a thin skinned fan, so be it.

No. Watch very little of him anymore. Without Fowler i would hate hearing him call a game.
And not sure if you watched the program i was referencing. He acted like a petulant child and not a professional analyst and broadcaster. So no i do not think apologizing for acting like that is unreasonable.

Even if we lose both games and win out, 10-2 after most were picking us to win 7 or 8 games is a great season.

yes .. 10-2 would be amazing ... the Wisconsin and OSU games will tell us if we are top 10 -15 caliber or how far we have to go to get there

there is something to be said for beating the teams you are supposed to beat ... Pelini for the most part did this

people are underestimating the Iowa game .. I think that game is a toss up

I don't get too worked up over KH. The guy is paid to have an opinion. IIRC he lived in Columbus, Ohio until a couple of years ago, and moved away possibly partly because of the grief he took from Buckeye fans. There's not a whole lot you can do about a talking head's opinion, but hope your team just keeps winning.

Media guys need ratings or they dont keep their jobs. They stir up crap on tv and social media. It generates conversation which generates revenue. When you attack a team with a passionate fan base it is certain to generate clicks and headlines.

All of that being said, espn and herbstreit can get bent.

don't think it's too much to ask of the national media to give Mike Riley a little credit in an objective, "schedule has been mediocre, but,,,," kind of way.

Jesus people are still crying about a special from back in 2005. Show me on the doll where Kirk touched you......
Bunch of junior high girls on here.
I guess what I was trying to say in my original post was act like you have been there and don't pump your fist to you a national commentator over wins to programs like Northwestern in Indiana – but I guess it's been so damn long since we've done anything worthy of respect it's really hard to know how to act.

I've stopped watching 'Game Day' altogether because I can't stand Herbstreit and Howard and I turned down the sound on the OSU/UW game last night partially because they had the crowd noise turned up too high and partially because of Herbsteit

I like Herby and find him to be a pretty balanced talking head.

Yeah... no. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but balanced he is not. I don't give a crap if he respects NU. I sure as hell don't have to watch his show just to hear it. Made that mistake yesterday.

I think herb street believes what he says, he is just to young to understand what Nebraska football used to be like, so he get riled when people around him respect Nebraska...like corso, or that announcer thats a big buff fan who been around along time now.

Truthfully, I think he did us a favor. Fired us up for the best D performance of the season. We can be the working class, play with a chip on your shoulder team. Fine with me.

He's 47, he understands what we were just fine.

I agree with you though, I think he does actually believe what he says, which makes his opinions honest ones.

So Herby is yet another in a really long line of sports personalities that most of this board dislikes, color me surprised. Doesn't matter if it's radio or TV, seems like most Husker fans hate all of them.

I didn't realize there was anyone on this board that speaks for me. My opinion is my own. Now, if the majority on this board agree with that then how is that on me for being a sheep? That's what you're saying. Somehow I got my panties in a bunch.

We all hate teams who take pride from being artificially ranked, especially in the top 10. We hated Iowa for being top 5 even though everyone knew they were trash. Then they got smashed by the only two good teams they played all year. We are the worst undefeated team in the division I, which is a cool thing to be, but we don't deserve to be undefeated. The schedule gods gave us a soft schedule this time...if Wisky was our second big 10 game of the year we would have 1 loss, and be in the top 20-25 where we belong.

Im just saying when I watched him talk with bury switzer, corso, etc, he didn't seem very educated on the history of college football.

But that's not a fact. No one knows yet, and if you think you know for sure, you're delusional.

Iowa was bagged on because they play an intentionally trash non conference, & then played none of the East big boys the whole year. Different.

Well that wasn't one of his finer moments for sure. I like the guy, but that doesn't mean I agree with every single thing he says or does. Good luck finding a commentator you never disagree with on something.

I liked keith jackson, he seemed to be fair and balanced.
I understand what you saying, sometimes I just don't know where herb streets reporting goes from honest to ohio state biased.

Ohio State fans might tell you he isn't biased enough towards OSU. I'd be curious to know what most reasonable OSU fans think of him.

That would be interesting.
I think maybe if we beat ohio state a few time in big games, it would all take care of itself. and by the looks of things, that game will be coming up shortly. I just hope we are healthy enough to give it a honest go.
