Think very carefully when you price season tickets for next season. And for the two years we’re away. And for when the new stadium opens.

Give it a lot of thought.

They'll follow the NU basketball formula: have one or two seasons of modest success, build a new stadium, and ask for large "donations" for season ticket reservations like we're Ohio State or Michigan. That'll price out casual fans and their families, including the kids who we could easily convert into lifelong fans if we made the games accessible to families. So we'll have a new stadium half-filled with visiting fans, and the NU fans that do show up will still be filled with curmudgeons who get angry if you stand and cheer for the team.

Look at the basketball forum. I can't remember seeing less interest in the team than I have over the last year or so. That could be the future for the football team if the NU sports marketing team mucks this up as bad as they did with basketball.

To be fair, the basketball team is coming off four straight bad seasons. I think that has more to do with the lack of interest than the marketing team. Imagine trying to market the football program in 2025 if we also go 3-9 in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
