I think we see a regional final rematch of Shelby vs Hibriten...
Are you trying to be funny ,hibriten would destroy them.Shelby is the least of your worries. The milltown boys are begging for a chance!
I think South Point or Shelby should be moved to the East to balance things out. We'll be assured of a great championship game.
I’m with you, SHS LION. There has been some obvious improvement both offensively and defensively. As I’ve repeatedly said, the offensive line would look a lot different versus 2A competition. The defense is state championship caliber.Seadog call me all the names you want but I will worry about Hibriten or SP if we meet, but for now my biggest worry is next Friday night who ever it is.Because still in the back of my mind is that dreadful night in Lawndale.
I don’t care what anyone says, though, I’m entitled to my opinion, but if my son was healthy, and had his mobility, we would have beaten Hibriten last year. Hibriten was a good team, no doubt, but they caught us at a good time. My man was trying to pad his resume, and scheduled South Pointe, and we were beaten up physically in that game, two wars with South Point, and a physical Mt Pleasant team finished us physically, dealing the fatal blow to the ankle of the quarterback.Every team is banged up. No excuses if your team loses. And I got hibriten in 2aa doubt Shelby or SP will stay within 10 points
You know I’m gonna agree with you on the banged up part from last year. The south point game really took a lot out of Shelby and by the time they got up to Hibriten about everyone was limping. During the game I sat on the Hibriten side and talked to some nice people and had told them about the KNOCK DOWN DRAG OUT WITH SOUTH POINT. But it’s football no excusesAnd this year the air attack will be in full force, last year Qb was banged up in that game. Heck team was banged up from brutality games we played to get there.
Respect for Hibriten though, they are good fb team. But really wanna see both compare if Shelby not banged up
I thought last year that a healthy Bess could be a better option then the injured QB(though I truly understand and appreciate his desire to play in the game). Panthers made quite a few plays defensively due to his lack of mobility in that game... He still had a heck of a game and until Witherspoon broke the long run with about 2:00 left in game it was a nail-biter...I don’t care what anyone says, though, I’m entitled to my opinion, but if my son was healthy, and had his mobility, we wouldn’t have beaten Hibriten last year. I agree, all teams are banged up at that point of the season, but when it’s that all important position, that’s a big deal. We still could have won that game, though. We literally let it slip through our hands, and if Hibriten posters say they weren’t holding their asses tight to the last four minutes of that game, they are lying. You dominated nothing.

It was a great defensive ballgame. I think if your son could have scrambled it could have really hurt Hibriten. Hibriten had knocked on the door many times last year was their year. Might have a rematch in Lenoir this year if we both take care of business.I don’t care what anyone says, though, I’m entitled to my opinion, but if my son was healthy, and had his mobility, we wouldn’t have beaten Hibriten last year. I agree with your post 100%. Malik should not have even played, but like Dax, he’s a warrior, and he’s never honest about the extent of an injury, but yet, they shut him down in basketball a significant amount of time. And, how many times will Dax let a punter tackle him one on one? Then, there was the flying phantom dive tackle on Brooks, after he broke a long run. Trust me, he’s not much slower than Witherspoon. Then, your quarterback had a Madden passing accuracy rating of 66 during the regular season, but suddenly, it went to 95 in the playoffs. You guys also lost a student, tragically, prior to the game, the team played with intensified emotion. You guys were good, but lucky too. It was just your time.I thought last year that a healthy Bess could be a better option then the injured QB(though I truly understand and appreciate his desire to play in the game). Still say the game changing sequence was when Shelby blocked the punt(amazing play by LB Scott) and Dax was tackled by Haney(punter) at the 3 yard line!!! After a penalty Shelby missed FG (instead of leading 14-13 Hibriten still led 13-7)
This was one of the best HS games I have ever seen

Well said.I’m with you, SHS LION. There has been some obvious improvement both offensively and defensively. As I’ve repeatedly said, the offensive line would look a lot different versus 2A competition. The defense is state championship caliber.
However, despite the offense being red hot these past few weeks, we still haven’t faced anyone who could pressure the quarterback. As good as South Point is, they can’t play dead in a cowboy movie against the pass. They don’t practice against it much, and they haven’t generated a pass rush all season. Kemmerlin of Crest went 10 for 10 on them. Even lowly Burns was able to pressure the quarterback, and best believe Pisgah will get after it, and Hibriten will too. Although, I like our chances versus anyone in 2A, ANYONE, beating South Point wasn’t winning the state championship, and we most defensively need to take it one game at a time.
No luck involved healthy qb are not hib was better team.
Is he at A&T? I know Lenoir Rhyne got some of your players, too, the linebacker who was an excellent player. Malik met Miles during the East West All star game, he was a good, humble young man.I think the guy that made the tackle was Miles Simon. He was a heck of an athlete.
Yes hes at A&T. Good kid and a great ball player. He had the talent to be a standout running back but he played safety and WR in a very run oriented offense. Says alot about him.Is he at A&T? This team reminds me alot of the 2009 team. Hopefully no 1 point loss in the 3rd round.Hib defense is not as good but there offense is way better than last year you will get to see it.
Shelbyfan1, why are you pretending to be a Hibriten poster?Get off of going to class 53 year old off of work today why attack.
Did your son go on to college to play anywhere??I agree with your post 100%.
