High School Football -- Fredrick Douglas vs Hoban (Akron, OH) - Aug 19th

I did not realize this game was being played. Should be a great test for Fredrick Douglas. Hoban is a powerhouse in Ohio D2 (second biggest division). It is early in the season so a lot can happen especially at the High School level. Hopefully both teams will be completely healthy.

9/15 will be interesting. Fredrick Douglas comes to Corbin. Corbin is celebrating its 100th season and that will be the first game on our new turf field and renovated football complex. Corbin has spent 9.3 million on this renovation. Thats a lot for a small Appalachian school.

Our first game is against Hughes from Cincinnati. They've gone from no program to a quality, winning program in a handful of years.

The good programs in Kentucky are trying hard to upgrade their schedules. Iron does sharpen iron.

Hughes is one of those schools where they clearly have athletes in the building, but the facilities are terrible and the coaches have been a revolving door. Cincinnati Public Schools in the intercity tend to struggle with athletics but there are a few programs out there that really shine. There are so many private schools in Cincinnati it really makes it tough for the public schools to keep up.
