With several linemen going two-ways, or part of a rotation, I do not believe that a hurry up offense would benefit the Hilltoppers.
IMO the much beaten-up argument of the QB back and forth between plays misses that Jaws is working the clock and regularly sends in the play only after the ball is officially placed and the 40 second play-clock has been started.
I will likely be corrected for the next statement, but I do not recall any delay of game penalties because the plays did not get in.
Though some/many will disagree, his apparent strategy has a purpose: Limit the number of total plays run within a game and ensure his horses are as fresh as possible. Unfortunately, the days of two-platoon Hilltopper football is a fond memory, and no longer a real expectation, so with that goes the advantage of wearing down opponents.
