Yes, no way it happens the HC people will not let the untermenschen from HS into their school. I do not see a boon to Benet, Naz, Fenwick, aren't those schools already turning away students?(

But yes, Westmont (and Lisle) need to merge with an existing SD, whether Hinsdale, Downers, Naper, etc.

And who for a replacement #7 silver, provided the DGs or Provisos dont follow suit?

I don't think the provio's would consolidate the schools like that based on gang issues, they should however, consider consolidating some of the sports programs.

Do Westmont and Lisle receive the same kind of check that North Chicago 187 got from Lake Forest (a persistent rumor up).

Does anyone really believe that the Hinsdale elite would "allow" the Darien kids into the Hinsdale Central Country Club?

It's bad enough seeing the 2 schools 1 sports program garbage going on.Bloom/Bloom Trail(though they did incorporate both schools nicknames) Morton East,Morton West(Pegasus would have been perfect.A Mustang with the Falcons wings) East Leyden/West Leyden(? Put a Knight on the helmets riding a Eagle or Knight with sword in hand and Eagle on his arm similar to a falcon)

That would be cool.
I heard there were long lines outside several Hinsdale based cardiologists offices this morning.
But such a design might help them poach certain neighborhoods in less well off areas.
And being Hinsdale, wouldnt you have a cardiologist or 2 on your same block (and mob doctor options in Burr Ridge)?

I don't think it'll happen. The Have's vs The Have Not's, Hatfields vs McCoys...that stuff still goes on. Hinsdale folks won't allow it, we all know it.

So you want a Devil with a pitchfork riding a Hornet on the helmet?
I think you're on something er on to something!!! I just think it's fair to pay respect to both schools. When Joliet did the 2 sports 1 school thing my cousin played at Joliet West.He said he understood the original Joliet Township Steelmen he felt disrespected Tigers were left out.A Tiger made of Steel???

While this thought pattern might apply in most schools, in this instance I don't believe you fully grasp the thought patterns of those from the Devil school.
Now, if we were talking the tennis team or swimming it might be a different story.

New Trier East & West were consolidated not a 2 schools with 1 sports program

I never said it was two schools with one sports program, but its analogous to the discussions in Hinsdale D86 about creating a single high school across two campuses.

http://www.illinoishsglorydays.com/id610.html

"New Trier West stayed open as a four-year institution until 1981, when the school board decided to merge New Trier East & West together, due to decreasing enrollments. It was decided to use the Northfield campus for freshmen only, while the remainder of the student body was at the Winnetka campus. This arrangement lasted thru 1985, when the enrollment continued to drop and allowed all students to be in just one building. The New Trier West building was turned into a community recreation center, and also served as a senior center, a dormitory for corporate business (such as Kraft Foods, who is headquartered in Northfield), a public swimming pool, and an alternative high school. However, the enrollment downswing turned around and in 2001, the building returned to being a freshmen-only campus for New Trier High School. It also houses the administrative offices for the New Trier school district."

From District 86 map PDF link below, I did not know that there was a choice zone for new students.

http://hinsdale86.schoolwires.net/cms/lib010/IL01904717/Centricity/Domain/156/District 86 Boundaries Map.pdf

I wonder what the breakdown is between choosing Central or South?

Believe it or not, quite a few kids in this zone choose South over Central. Probably nowhere near the majority. For example, the #5 basketball recruit in state and Northwestern recruit falls into that group. Over the years I known quite a few families that make this choice. For some, I think South provides a more comfortable/open/diverse environment.
