Head coach. Fickell could take some of Urban's assistants with him, maybe even one of their highly rated qbs who wont play and wants to transfer.

Pelini has experience as a H.C and while Nebraska may think 9 wins is a joke, it would be welcomed in Lexington.
I don't doubt your opinion; however, check out Pelini as a person. A total low life. Egotistical maniac!. If that is what makes a great coach then he should be in the club. FYI, Bo hated recruiting with a passion. Additionally, his defenses were so complex the players went in to games not knowing what to do.

Bo Pellini would be a home run hire. He had a great record at Nebraska and 66-27 in seven full seasons and went 3-3 in bowl games but still got fired after winning no less than 9 games each season as the member of a power 5 school. He also coached the team to the 2003 Alamo bowl win as an interim HC.

I'd still rather have Mike Leach, but Bo Pellini would DEFINITELY be an option I would support.

As some have suggested here, Pelini is a competent coach but is a hot head and speaks before thinking.

I don't think our current AD would seriously consider him. Barnhart is not competitive and wants no challenges.

Allegedly, Pelini said the following (according to Wikipedia):

First Audio tape leak
Following a home game loss to UCLA Bruins on September 14, 2013, and shortly after responding to criticism from former Nebraska football player Tommie Frazier about the loss, a two-year-old audio tape with a profane tirade by Pelini was anonymously leaked to Deadspin. The recording was made following Nebraska's come-from-behind win against Ohio State in 2011, when it was reported that some students left when Nebraska was down 27-6 early in the 3rd quarter. The Huskers won 34-27. According to Deadspin, among the statements made on the audio recording, Pelini said:

"Our crowd. What a bunch of ******* fair-weather f***ing—they can all kiss my @$$ out the ******* door. 'Cause the day is f***ing coming now. We'll see what they can do when I'm f***ing so f***ing pissed off."

Second Audio tape leak
Following his firing on November 30th, 2014 Pelini met with his (former) team at a local high school on December 2nd. Leaked audio of the meeting revealed that the coach verbally attacked University of Nebraska administration. At one point Pelini said:

"It wasn't a surprise to me. It really wasn't. I didn't really have any relationship with the AD. The guy — you guys saw him (Sunday) — the guy's a total p----. I mean, he is. He's a total c---."

Those Pelini quotes remind me of that seasonal classic, "The Christmas Story."

Ralphie: Ohhhh fuuudge!

Ralphie as Adult: [narrating] Only I didn't say "Fudge." I said THE word, the big one, the queen-mother of dirty words, the "F-dash-dash-dash" word!

Mr. Parker: [stunned] *What* did you say?

Ralphie: Uh, um...

********

Mother: All right. Now, are you ready to tell me where you heard that word?

Ralphie as Adult: [narrating] Now, I had heard that word at least ten times a day from my old man. He worked in profanity the way other artists might work in oils or clay. It was his true medium; a master. But, I chickened out and said the first name that came to mind.

Ralphie: Schwartz!

Or we can hire Kliff Kingsbury who is young AND experienced. Then you get recruiting ties to Texas. Ohio has not done jack for our recruiting. Lets just be honest.

I'm no recruiting expert (nor did I sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night) but I do see how Ohio can improve recruiting, but I don't understand how UM takes the best out of that state and couldn't win until he went out of state and we're supposed to win with the ones he's not after?

I believed it would work when we had the High Performance program because that was going to be the cutting edge advantage to get the max out of them, but that's kinda gone by the wayside for conventional methods.

So how we going to get over the top?
