Not a poll, more of a blind taste test. Hire or Fire?

This coach has a .719 winning percentage as a head coach.

This coach has a .650 winning percentage in Bowl Games.

This coach has 2 Conference Championships, but no National Championships even though his team has been in contention.

This coach’s team has an average National Poll year-end ranking of 10th over the years the team has been ranked.

In this coach’s best season the team only had 1 loss, but his career average is 9 wins per season.

This coach is 38-35 against the Top 25, but 14-23 against ranked opponents is the last 8 seasons.

This coach is 5-10 against his team’s top rival.

If Georgia fires Richt, they need to have an absolute home run hire to follow. Off the top of my head I can't think of anyone realistic who would fit that description.

Unless they are getting an NFL guy or someone with a lot of success at the top level of college it would seem very risky with a lot more down than upside.

Do you mean should we try to hire him if he becomes available?

I'd be cool with that, but not surprised if he got better offers.

Hire.

Last year his team went 10-3. Won vs 16 Clemson, at 23 Mizz, vs 9 Auburn and vs 21 L'Ville in a bowl. If WVU managed that, it'd be one of the banner, standout seasons in our history.

38 top 25 wins. 9 bowl wins. 80 NFL players. Sign me up.

WVU could not do better than that resume, but I feel it's an outside shot at best to get him.

Want to know what kind of recruiting Richt and his staff are capable of?

He has the No. 1 rated QB in the USA committed to UGA for 2016.

Jacob Eason. http://sports.yahoo.com/uga/football/recruiting/player-Jacob-Eason-156539

So all the sharp criticism he's received of late regarding no QB will be put to rest IF they don't fire him.

He's also had two NFL RBs lost to season ending knee injuries the last two seasons.

Dana has been rightly criticized for not producing a top QB. If he had Eason on the way people would point to that to no end.

Jason's father, Tony Eason-former NFL QB with the Patriots and Jets, is on the record as of this morning saying, "you've got to have a plan B." The inference is that if Richt is gone the recruiting of Jason will be back open. It was also inferred that no B12 schools need apply as they don't develop NFL caliber QBs.

yeah I wasn't saying dana was going to flip eason to WVU. that'll be the day.

I was giving an example of UGA recruiting under Mark Richt.

They got & have held a commit from a kid who is rated no. 1 & who is all the way across the country in Washington.
