I hope they can turn it around. Seems like there's fight, but vacuum of who to give it to when things get tough.

We don't have anyone who wants the ball with the game on the line.
All our guards are average to below average as our outside shooters.
This would be a below average sec team any year.

Yes, the team sucks. It's plain for all to see. Forget the mental gymnastics of trying to convince yourselves we're really not that bad...the rest of the SEC is just that good. We are bad. Bad bad. We're not the kind of bad where we do some things well but are just really deficient in other things. We're deficient in everything. There is not one single thing anyone can point to about this team and say "well, at least we......". Don't be fooled by having a couple of close losses to ranked teams. One outstanding characteristic of terrible teams is finding ways to lose games they should win. Choking away a game you should win doesn't make you good. It makes you bad.

And worse than being historically bad, the team is just not entertaining or fun to watch. We do NOT look well-coached...at all. Most games it looks Paris just walked around campus 30 minutes before the game, grabbed the first five guys he saw and threw them out the court with a ball.

I don't know what this means about Paris. On the heels of one bad season, we had a really good season last year, so everyone said that was proof he's obviously a good coach. So what does this season say? It must mean something. It a much worse season than last year was a good season. It can't only be the good seasons that mean something.

But, back to my original point, yes, we suck. Yes, the rest of the SEC is very good, but we suck. Both things can be true (and, in this case, are true). This season is lost. There is nothing to salvage. I suppose the best we can hope for is to win a few of our final 11 games so we can play the old "the team came together and played better down the stretch card" again. But, in this portal era, there is really is no building. Each years stands on its own.

I know some will go on deluding themselves in spite of all the evidence staring them in the face. 0-7 in conference play is 0-7 in conference play. I don't care how you get there, mediocre teams don't go 0-7 in conference play.

We don’t have good guard play, bless them, but not good enough for our league. CMB is great, Pringle is fine, we have a few good supporting players. But, our guard play is not even close to what we need to be competitive. I still think Paris will get good guys in and build some depth, but this team is not going to be competitive. I’m usually the optimist, but this mess is not getting any better this season.
