I could see Herman taking LSU job...maybe Auburn but less likely.

And Briles going to Houston. Great fit for that program and Briles remains in the state.

Yep. That makes a ton of sense. If Miles is fired I would almost guarantee Tom Herman will be their HC.

No offense to Houston, I know Herman has built a good program quickly and if they get a B12 bid things would be different.. However Briles could do better than Houston

Briles and Houston make perfect sense as its Briles bread and butter recruiting area . I would actually argue that if Briles got the Houston job he would be insanely lucky to get as good of a program as Houston with everything surrounding him right now.

I understand all that.
Maybe Briles is a Texas lifer, maybe he's happy not ever coaching at a top tier program. Only he knows.

He is no spring chicken. I think he wants a crack at one of those top tier programs

Well, yeah. I mean obviously he does but I highly doubt any big name program is going to offer him a job with everything surrounding him and get destroyed in the media. He'll likely go to a smaller program build his rep back and then maybe get another shot at a big time school. Regardless of his level involvement when you toss around words like rape and sexual assault its not unreasonable to think that as man getting ready to turn 61 that he might never coach again.

He is too good of a coach never to coach again.

I'd bet he'll get a bigger job sooner rather than later. I could be wrong.

I know Mitch won't give him the time of day but I wish he would because he would win quickly here.

Isn't that a lot like the situation with BP fresh off his troubles, name me ONE big program that was courting him, when we had our opening. ZERO chance of UK hiring him then.

Hell, name me ONE legit program that was competing with jurich for him when he threw the TWENTY FOUR POINT FIVE MILLION dollar contract at him.

Not to mention the FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND dollar bonus (standard is $50,000) for meeting the APR that he had little to nothing to do with.

Forget the $1,000 handshakes, that leaves a lot of room for $100,000 handshakes, and I don't mean with recruits, although I am sure hurtt had a lot of those. Is there anyone on here gullible enough to believe the $5,000 loan (which would never have come to light if the heat hadn't turned up, the repayment check replaced with cash) was needed by the NROTY to pay his power bill? That is a lot of $100 handshakes, and the crook had NINE HUNDRED AND THIRTY MILLION dollars of other peoples money to get rid of before prison..

jurich and his cesspool, Slick RIck, and his adultery AND abortion, his dear brother in law's hall with the madame, Willie and all the other transfers, Strong that lucked out on his adultery not becoming a public spectacle, hurtt, maybe the biggest recruiting cheater in history (he should write a book, and maybe will some day), jurich couldn't fire him and strong couldn't go to Thug U without him , LOL, (seems like Jonesy recruited OK without him, Strong's territory AND they cheat) it kills me to see those cheaters prosper, ESPN giving kudos to jurich for all his success as we speak.

I think this is far more likely than Briles to Auburn. Malzan is probably gone as well but I don't know right now who they go after.

Briles to Houston makes quite a bit of sense, especially since attended Houston as a player and was HC there before he left for Baylor.

I have a feeling Major Applewhite ends up as Houston's next HC though. He's a Texas native and has been calling plays for Herman the last 2 seasons.

Did a hell of a job as OC in Brown's last year at Texas as well. He was also Sabans first OC at Bama.
