Redistribution of wealth, no competition, no choice, government ownership of resources and production, individual rights removed for the sanctity of the state. Its always the end result of socialism, no matter whether its cleverly disguised as "progressivism" or "democratic socialism".
The degree of force necessary to gain that control is paramount. Remember, Hitler was voted in by the people due to a struggling economy, high unemployment, racial unrest, and violence in the streets.
