Hinshaw was recruiting him to Cincy, so he must have seen what he likes out of a QB for his and Gran's system.

Pro style with pretty good size, 6'4" probably 200. UK was his only P5 offer, most offers were MAC. I imagine his package will be similar to what was created for Barker.

Do u think he would have gotten more offers had he not committed to us so early? Seems like a lot of schools were checkin in on him after he committed but not sure if any offered. Thought I remember Purdue or IU checkin him out and seems like another big 10 school. MSU maybe? Just seems like he probably would have seen more offers had he not been so loyal to us or maybe went to a few more camps.

I based his offer list on what was reported on his Rivals page. I realize those may not be totally accurate, it is what it is.

I was just seeing what your opinion is. U seem to know a lot about this stuff. Is he a diamond in the rough type guy that the staff seems to be able to identify? Seems like a great kid and a team first player. I'd take 22 kids like that and never look back.

Doubtful if I know more about this stuff than you, just offering an opinion.

Hoak seems to be one of those over achiever types, certainly hope so. He's apparently a heady type too, that matters a lot. He'll be fun to watch as he develops.

Hoak isn't as slow as an Andre Woodson or Tim Couch....I'd argue he's more on the line of a Patrick Towles with his feet.

San Antonio, how would you rate him, as compared to Barker, in foot speed, agility, arm strength, and accuracy.

He is similar to Barker, but different in terms of speed, elusiveness and passing ability. He is fearless and will do what it takes to make the play. Those are the qualities Coach Hinshaw looks for and found in Stephen Johnson, Drew has the same qualities, but injuries and immaturity has held him back. Make no mistake, however, Drew is a major talent as seen in the first half against Southern Mississippi.

Osu fans I read on some boards were pretty sure he was the best qb in state. I remember state fans bragging on deweaver and Osu fans laughing at them.

Boils down to the underwear Olympics vs real games. Hoak appears to be a gamer. He needs to add weight bad but from my untrained eye... he had the best tape of any qb we've gotten in stoops era.

The last throw on the "touch" link was the same rollout he did in the spring game for a score or near score. He seems to roll and throw to his right well.

I like that Hinshaw wanted him at Cincy. Trust Hinshaw's ability to evaluate and project.
