Man do I hate HOA's and their fees. You pay all this money for some crap you don't even want or need. A bunch of con artist I pay 172$ a month and I have no idea where all the money could possibly go. Thats around 2000$ a year times the 50-100 condos they have Ballpark estimate 100,000$ a year and they built a little concrete slab and put a picnic table on it and called it a "Patio". Anyone got the best way to tell an HOA to F Off when you're about to move?

The ultimate revenge would be to purchase property not encumbered with HOA fees.
Mine is actually pretty good - not at all overbearing, cheap, and they do mulching and mowing for whole neighborhood.
If only there were an accounting report or a set of bylaws that told what all those fees pay for.

I don't know how other neighborhoods are run but my experience with HOA's is that they're worthless. Just an avenue to take money from homeowners over ridiculous laws. Most are people with nothing better to do than drive around all day looking for something wrong with your property. Bigger issues are never addressed but they can sure threaten one over a broken fence pick or bushes that need trimmed. When you confront them over an issue you're lucky to talk to a real person. I had a friend that worked for one and he said that the lady who ran the HOA Association would send threatening letters then hide in her office when someone showed up to address the issue. They're worthless.
