Who was the guy (from Ohio I believe) who shared detailed progress of his dad's battle with pancreatic cancer? I actually learned something on this board for once. šŸ˜‚

I may need some help with this character, as I have been on quite a few message boards since the 90's, but, how about "Frank from Allentown." He caused quite a few stormy debates in his time.

Ok, I’ve got an infamous 2-3 year poster in mind, but can’t come up with his OP name. The OP was a true ā€˜narcissist’ in that he dominated the main BWI rivals board at the time and probably posted more than anyone in a 2-3 year period. He may have been banned for some of his over the top, rabid, all knowing, condescending responses ? My guess is this was about 8-10 years ago, so not all that long ago.
EDIT: I’ll post the OP once I remember the name 🤣

Just a little clarification, assuming that I remember things correctly.

Cheese Lion was on the Plotit board, and joined the migration to BWI when I moved the board in 2001.

I'm pretty sure he was in Wisconsin, though if not, it was somewhere in the midwest.

My memory was that his health issues were heart related. He did post about his issues, his recovery, etc. There was one, possibly two (I'm not certain) timeframes where he was off the board for some interval due to surgery.

Alas, at some point after he hadn't posted for quite some time, somebody on the board mentioned that they hadn't seen anything from him in quite some time. The moderators and I did put some effort into trying to track down Cheese/his family, to see if we could learn what happened to him. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful.

Cheese Lion was always positive about PSU. No matter the situation, he'd always see things from the perspective of how he expected the team, or the coaches, to respond to this or that adversity, and beat whatever team was next on the schedule.

Cheese also was somewhat forthcoming about his family. At this point, I don't recall the specifics, but I think (not certain) that he had one or two daughters.

Cheese was one of the reasons why, after many years of running the board, that I started to occasionally remind folks to leave instructions for their spouse or for their kids, in terms of how to log on to the board, and for them to post something to let us know about the loss of a member of our board community. I haven't mentioned that in some time, but I do encourage many of you to include a set of instructions for that in the paperwork/files you prepare for your family in case something happens to you.
Cheese was from Wisconsin. He went by another handle for a time but I can't remember what it was. I think one of his daughters was an athlete. Soccer player maybe?

He, M&B2, Front Range, and Art posted a lot back in the Plotit, early McAndrew days. Who was the lawyer from Berkeley Springs, WV who entertained the board with his fishing misadventures? Good times.

Although her information was sometimes suspect, Carol was very helpful. I was sad to hear of her passing
I was just about to post ā€œwhat about Carol1ā€? I can’t say for certain but I think I ran across her one time in the lots during a Blue White game. It was an epic interaction.

That was Demlion. He posts that every year (or at least did) on the anniversary date of that misadventure.
It's kind of like (the late) Pierre Robert playing Alice's Restuarant on WMMR in Philly every Thanksgiving. Even though you know the story, you still want to to relive it.

Was it MK? Mkilvanik or something like that.
Pretty sure he finally got booted and went to, of all places, the Pitt board. His schtick lasted about 10 minutes until they ran him off. :ROFLMAO:

Art was funny or at least I thought so but I don't think it was him.
Was AkronLion the Joe hater who helped pay for the plane with the banner? He was another one that tuned into a real ahole. I think his son was a goalie or was on the MD Lacrosse teams.

Uncle Lar was a class, no BS poster. A mathematics major at PSU, just saying. You could take anything he said to the bank. He actually posted, ā€œThis is my last post,ā€ and he hasn’t posted since, totally on brand.

I remember him being wrong, but not often.

The best Marsh Creek related gag was during the height of his Michigan hate. I believe Dave Parry was the head of Big10 officials and reportedly his office was a Michigan shrine. Anyway, someone went on Parry’s wiki page and edited it so that the ā€œpersonalā€ section included a story of a maniacal fan named Marsh Creek Eagle who was so upset at the Big 10 refs and Parry that he drove his car through the wall of Parry’s office. I don’t know if it was a UM fan or one of us, but that was classic

The editor of Parry's Wiki page was michnittlion, aka Count_Von_Count, aka the now-domesticated SoCalLion.

MCE actually threatened to sue over that Wikipedia page edit!

Some further details: the referee was Dick Honig, not Dave Parry. Honig owned a small store in Michigan that sold referee-related equipment and there actually WAS an accident where a car wound up running into the building and doing a decent amount of damage.

I’ve become real life friends with @rudedude, @MaconNitt, @STPGopherfan and @step.eng69 . They’re more entertaining on the Board than in real life. šŸ˜†

I’d like to think I could be a real life friend with @LionJim . But I would not want to upset him as he has the potential to pick me up and throw me a fairly long distance.
HEY BV,
Nice to hear from you.............

Hahaha!!!! That’s gold - how could I forget the ā€œWhistle Stopā€. Thanks for the correction - I remembered almost none of the details, but at least I nailed the general theme

LOL... He wanted to fight me. This is back when I only posted in the Den. I was half tempted to accept the next time I was back east. Meet him in Erv's BYO parking lot and go from there.... lol...

No worries.
Having met both of you in person, you would get along famously. Both top notch guys in my book. FWIW.

Do we put C66 in the group? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: I was on here the night he was outed and have never LMAO when all that went down. The best was Tom Mac's response when he said something along the lines of " I didn't expect or see this coming.... that's for sure"
What was he outed as?

Demlion had misadventures with power equipment, runaway truck and remodeling .

How did I miss this? I've been on here/Rivals a long time. Guy was a true Ricardo Cabeza.
