There are many great rivalry games this Friday night and Hoggard-NH is one of them. The series is tied at 29-29. Hoggard had won the last two and 4 out of the last 5 games. NH has been a bit of a surprise, they were expected to be better than last season but have surprised many by beating Butler and going 6-0 in the conference heading into the last week. NH pounds the ball and they have been really good at scoring with their special teams and defense.
Hoggard had some pretty lofty expectations this season. They were about 4 plays away from winning at WF and handled their business heading into the SB game. During that game the Vikes lost their starting QB who was having an all conference type year. The Vikings have good depth this year but not at QB and their offense has really struggled since. Their first game without Willharm they lost to a good NB team 6-0. Since the SB game Hoggard has lost two starters on defense.
If healthy I would call Hoggard a 17 point favorite to beat the Wildcats but not now. Hoggard has a very good defense, as do the Wildcats. Turnovers and special teams and penalties will probably be the difference. I think the Vikings can still win and force a three way tie for first place and there #1 seed for the 4A team in the conference.
