Remember when we went into Blacksburg and beat VT? All the Debbie Downers wanted to crap on that win because it fit their narrative.

Well, the Turkeys knocked off 10-4 NC State at home this weekend, and they held on to beat #4 Virginia tonight. They're on top of the ACC at 2-0.

VT had a rough non-con, but that win is going to look better and better as this season goes on.

Very impressive wins for them. I for one was completely wrong about them. Buzz is getting it done in Blacksburg.

VA Tech currently at #114 in Ken Pom, which is surprisingly low to me. NU at 50.

Any road win over a team that's in a conference as strong as the ACC is a good win. How many venues in the B1G can you count on traveling to and picking up an easy win? Even Penn State, as mediocre as they've been the last several years, is not usually an easy win on their home court (as a couple of NU teams can attest).

Update: VT's two wins have moved it up to 99 in the RPI. So we now have a top-100 road win, for the time being. Keep winning some games, VT.

Bump for VT, which just came back from double digits down to beat Georgia Tech in Atlanta. GT was 44 in RPI coming into the day, so VT should get a pretty good bump from its current spot at 106.

Applaud the work of Buzz Williams here since frankly I felt we had significantly more talent overall than Tech, and that they were truly a lower-division ACC team. But have to wonder if it is more of a "down" year for the ACC than it is for the BIG. We split the Challenge with some bad matchups in an alleged "down" year for us. One of their best teams (Virginia) has looked flat-out pedestrian when I have seen them, and a sub-100 KenPom team is now 4-1 in the conference.

Let's not go crazy here, VT won its 4 games by a total of 10 points, including one in OT, and got PASTED by Duke in its one loss. They've had a lucky run, but I expect they will regress a bit later this season.
