Glad you’re coming to Edenton on Friday! Best restaurant in town is Waterman’s Grill on south broad street near the water. Other good options: 309 Bistro, Nothing Fancy Cafe, Governors Pub, and Mamasitas Mexican. Come early and take in the beauty and history of Edenton! http://www.visitedenton.com/ And thanks for the compliment on Keimon Bailey (#8). He’s pretty special: https://ncpreps.rivals.com/news/ncpreps-com-spotlight-keimon-bailey You’re #45 looks just as impressive on film! Looking forward to a great game.I expect a tight game. I haven't seen edenton play. I watched some you tube highlights and #8 looks like a player. I just don't expect anymore blowouts in the playoffs in 1aa. I look forward to traveling to edenton. Any recommendations on restaurants pre-game or post-game?
Maybe so...but if beat Lakewood by 40 you will beat Tabor with no problem..I'll stay tunedEdenton by 48 to 8
Agreed! Drove 500 miles round trip to Tabor City last year to see our Aces take on South Columbus in East Regional Final. Froze our butts off, but we got the win. Got home around 2:30am. Wouldn’t trade that trip for anything!Look forward to it. Never been to edenton. That's what I love about high school football. While others will gripe about long playoff travel I enjoy it. You get to go places you wouldn't normally go. More importantly I would be willing to bet a lot of the players never have the opportunity to see what our great state has to offer.
Aces’ Bailey (#8) is our star, but #6 Spruill is just as fast and reliable. Bailey has incredible vision for the field. Sophomore QB Stanley is really another RB. He stepped up to QB in 1st game this year when starting QB Coston was injured. After looking at these two teams, I am amazed by the number of carries your leading rushers have. Edenton #8. 153 Of 333 carries (46%). Lakewood #45. 260 Of 469 carries (55%). #45 also had 40 of 55 carries (73%) against East Carteret. That is a lot of offense expected of one player. I am guessing there is a lack of depth on both teams at RB.
We count on Bailey a lot but we have other weapons it is just that Bailey is so effective it is hard not to feed him the ball. After looking at these two teams, I am amazed by the number of carries your leading rushers have. Following up on JAHAces post come on down to Broad Street and enjoy all the restaurants he recommended. In addition, although it is not a restaurant, stop into Edenton Bay Trading Company on Broad Street and enjoy their extensive beer selection and back court yard beer garden. If you can make sure you make it to Edenton prior to sunset and enjoy the view crossing the Chowan River bridge as you are coming into town. The high school is on Broad Street just four or so blocks from downtown so you should have plenty of time to enjoy yourself downtown and then make the game on time.I expect a tight game. So that is what your basin your opinion on. Clearly you know nothing about football. And what the game is about. Yes they may lose by 40 but there is so much more involved. You have no idea what football is about. Especially HighSchool FootballLakewood has no depth. The 11 you see on the field is their studs. If one or two go down they are in trouble.

Aces fans are looking for a good game. We haven’t had one since Northeastern and the talk around town is this is going to be a very competitive game. I hope some of you LHS fans come down early and spend some time tomorrow afternoon in Edenton.I have never said anything close to losing by 40. We will have 11 studs on the field. I don't claim to be a high school football guru, If 45 goes down do we have another? If 53 goes down do we have another? If 61 goes down do we have another? IF 62 goes down do we have another? What about 44,42,85,60? Tarboro has 10 running backs they say are just as good as the starters. I am just saying if we lose a key player we are in trouble. TRUTH! For the record...probably the best game this week!
Wrong man the Aces got RB's that can do the job if Bailey is not in the game #23,33,40 a freshman,Stanley #16 also the current starting QB's and a few other also #6 Spruill. After looking at these two teams, I am amazed by the number of carries your leading rushers have. My point is as follows: If they are as good as Bailey then why are that not getting More carries? Wouldn’t you want to limit Bailey’s potential for injury by spreading the carries around more? Wouldn’t you want to get them more game experience so they would be better able to carry the load if needed? Just an observation. We will see how it plays out next Friday. I hope everyone is healthy because it is going to be one heck of a game! Tarboro stadium will be rocking!Wrong man the Aces got RB's that can do the job if Bailey is not in the game #23,33,40 a freshman,Stanley #16 also the current starting QB's and a few other also #6 Spruill.
Looking forward to a good game next week. For what it’s worth, Aces RB Dequante Spruill scored more TDs than Bailey did last night. My point is as follows: If they are as good as Bailey then why are that not getting More carries? Let me put it to you like this sir, if need be they can carry the load with no problem the sophomore Stanley who's playing QB now for the Aces carried the load last season when Bailey injuried his ankle in the first quarter against South Columbus last season in the 2A eastern championship game In Tabor City and scored five rushing TD's and scored in the championship game against Reidsville capable RB's is the Aces least problem. That's just the way the Aces use him by the way #6 can carry it to the house also plus the two track kids # 23 and 33 who also played in the 2A east championship along side Stanley when Bailey was injuried no let up faster than Bailey but like defense better so they use him at LB plus one of the top in the state in tackles very physical and strong. My point is as follows: If they are as good as Bailey then why are that not getting More carries? No doubt my man the Aces fans support their team very well even when they played in Tabor City and in Norfolk against Booker T. Washington a hostile environment if you ever been to Norfolk. Hey why don't you guys bring some teams down from the 757 area? Bishop Sullivan High School will be happy to come down they got their own money and don't mind traveling. They are located in Virginia Beach. They even traveled to Georgia and Florida to play IMG they will even participate in coach Craddock jamboree if he ask them. Peace. This will be an exciting game for sure. I can’t wait to see how our lines match up. Tarboro has 10 linemen who are heavier than the Aces heaviest (240 lbs). Actually, one of our leading running backs comes in at 237 lbs. I know the Aces fans will show up and support their team. This is for the Eastern championship so I know the stadium will be rocking.
The kid you are talking about is legit at LB fast and strong a track man and a good RB to substitute for Bailey if need be and faster. The Aces even have a freshman who bigger and faster than Bailey just waiting in the wing should be a starter next year plus there's another all star RB's coming up from Middle School will be a freshman next year. Man he had 58 solos in the first four games of the season.JKVikes:
It's obviously about the stats. Maybe they think it will help him get a college look? Don't know that for sure but I think they do have several kids with more speed than Bailey but he gets most of the touches. I noticed the same thing with Edenton's defense. It shows their leading tackler with 168 total tackles before last night. Come on man, that's ridiculous! It says he has 58 solos which is legit for a linebacker but the 110 assists is crazy. Don't know who their stats guy is but more than likely you should have more solos than assists. Proper scoring says only 2 people get credit for a tackle, with those types of numbers they are giving assists to 4-5 kids a play. Maybe that's how they motivate the kids? If that's it, it is working, the Aces are for real!

Bailey is durable and is the man plain and simple just like Todd was the man. people from all over come to see him play from NY,Ga,Va,SC, Maryland etc. and the Aces just to remind everyone is use to playing teams bigger them them that always have been the norm nothing new to them was the smallest team in the conference when they were 2A,were smaller than all the teams they played this season in 1A and the team from Richmond ,Va. they played this season. My point is as follows: If they are as good as Bailey then why are that not getting More carries? The Aces are use to playing bigger players it won't matter to them been doing it for years it's all in your blocking scheme and your heart and the Aces offensive line and head coach Hoggard is regarded as one of the best in NC. Why do you think they choose the Aces starting QB from last season and their RT from last season to start in the EAST/WEST All star game in Greensboro last year? Because of the offense and blocking scheme the Aces uses. This will be an exciting game for sure. I can’t wait to see how our lines match up.
