I think Stokes is a lock but where we stand on those 3. We don need Collins. Hes a project and I want immediate impact players. Get those 4. Get the top C in the portal. A solid backup TRUE pG to Rip. Those 4 with Aberdeen. Chandler. Moreno. Kam. Noah is a real top 5 team.

Again, Aberdeen will not be here next year

He will be running out of eligibility

Yea, you think the old I’m not coming if so and so is already here or coming too. I thought only Duke could stockpile 5 players at one position and it not bother one of them.

There really is no excuse why Kentucky doesn’t sign a top 5 freshman every single year. Kansas manages to do it, Duke gets multiple, heck even North Carolina comes close to doing it. Why is it such a challenge for a program with such power. Pope and UK keeps getting punked by SEC football schools. Something has to change.

not so sure about that
Again, if likes of Joe Tipton, Braham all make predictions, it is most likely to be right

Even the Wilson recruitment, Braham and Tiption finally made UNC prediction for him a week before Wilson announcement

If Collins is going to other schools, we will see they change their picks. Otherwise, it is more than likely he is ours

Kentuckiy's struggle to sign players is very puzzling. We have a fun offense to play in, a storied program, and according to reports we are offering more money than other schools.
i think its because popes rotation and depth makes it less appealing to hs players, also he doesnt wanna put freshman in the spotlight when places like unc and duke will

Recruiting is becoming a concern, and will get more concerning if Pope blanks on all of these targets that he has prioritized in ‘26.
Maybe the 28 or 29 class will pay off once Pope builds relationships and players are more familiar with his style of play and personality

Aberdeen only a junior? If so that’s awesomeness unless he goes pro.

Times have changed. It’s none of the coaches fault. UKs administration is still in 1950s. Need a younger more innovative AD. It’s really been rough for awhile as a fan. Do we think we have more power than we actually do? Something don’t add up.

I just want UK basketball to be dominant. If not dominant at least extremely good every year. I think a three year window with the NIL world is enough time to do something at a place like Kentucky. If Pope don’t make serious noise soon I hope we don’t wait around another 10 years being average. Need some excitement in the program.

maybe I’m alone on that but as a fan it’s been to long.

It was always going to be hard to keep him away from Bama.
If we have crazy money.. why not just up the offer last minute before it’s a done deal to bama. Don’t offer a little more.. go up like 1.5 mil.. maybe we don’t really have that kind of money.. but if you did have the money you gotta overpay and seal the deal on somebody like Holt. I mean Pope does want him. He’s been recruiting him. Go buy him as messed up as it sounds.

Colin is the eighth rank player in the nation. I doubt he's a project. He's just not a superstar. Take it over the game scorer

I don’t know if you’re right about that, but you very well could be – especially in regard to some high school recruits. But regardless, if this is Pope’s approach I’m very thankful for his focus on trying to build teams with a much higher chance of winning a title.

Well, let's not forget that those old dudes were playing with one arm tied behind their back (almost literally) due to injuries - and even Carr (who they had no replacement for at the PF spot) was not fully back to pre-injury status. I think what that team was able to do at the end of the year given the condition it was in was pretty surprising.

And both Duke and Flagg were very good. But the over-reliance on Flagg and, in my opinion, putting him in the spot of supposedly having to "take over" games was both unfair to him and the downfall of a Duke team that had enough other pieces to make that an unnecessary and costly error.

I think Chandler, Noah, Moreno, Kam and Jasper Johnson will be the core of next years team. That's a solid group to build around. Get a 5 star kid and a solid 4 star with potential, bring in one star and a couple of solid rotational players in the portal and thats a darn good basketball team

Nah, I don't think thats it. They storied program thing doesnt mean nearly what it did 20 years ago. Used to be, UK was awesome because kids knew they were always on TV. Nowadays everyone is televised nearly every game and everyone has NIL money. The NBA will take kids from anywhere if they can play. If a kid comes to campus and is happier somewhere else because the weather is better, the city is bigger, its closer to home, the girls are prettier, the money is as good or better...we just don't have the advantages we used to

There is also Lowe, Dioubate, Jelavic, Hawthorne, and Garrison. I think we should probably expect to lose a few of the potential returners – although I couldn’t guess which ones are more likely at this point. You have any early suspicions about which of the potential returners are more likely to look for greener pastures?

People who say we want to win titles should be stoked that we have the potential to return so many guys. Let’s try to get to elite eight this year and return as many players as possible for next year, sprinkle in one or maybe two freshmen with high upside and cut nets down in April 2027

Honestly, I think Garrison might once JQ gets back and he is forced out of some PT.

Thats 100% right. These teams that win championships with veteran Sr led teams that have been in the program 4 years...they have to put in the time to get there
