Lol groundhog day again. I literally addressed this question yesterday for what seems like the 100th time. I guess people just jump in a thread and start posting without reading anything.
This information was widely disseminated last year by extremely reputable sources.
So Pope "Refuses to pay what it takes for the elite talent" while simultaneously "overpaying" for the players we do land?
We need to settle on a narrative, because one contradicts the other.

Doesnt matter how much talent a player has, pope will not have the leader of the team be a freshman. The starting PG will be someone with experience . Rippey is obviously talented enough that he'll only go to a school he'd start at and get a lot of minutes.

People think about the upside of the OAD freshman, but don’t consider how volatile those are in terms of floor. We had plenty of down years because a freshman didn’t live up to expectations. We forget so quickly.
Some of it is cat on cat. Some other of it looks like cat on something mysterious to me. We got a troll problem on this site
I just figure everyone has their own opinion. Upperclassmen are the preferred option but when a freshmen is outstanding he is noticed - AD, Carmelo, Flagg, Zion.
