Hi There -

Wanted to keep this off the main board. Need to start shopping some home/auto insurance in the North Texas area.

Do we have anyone on this board that works in that space? Would love to connect with you.

Get ready for a real shocker. Our homeowners went up 26%. We had about a $6k claim due to the 2023 storm...yeah Mercury is going to make us pay for us using insurance....

FYI - Mercury was going to make you pay whether you used your insurance or not. 26 percent is pretty reasonable. I have seen MUCH larger increases than that over the last 12 months. From all insurers. Not just Mercury.

Yeah, it's a real S show here in NTX. There are no good options, there is no one out there (that I know of) trying to buy up market share right now. I'm with State Farm and shopped my stuff around last year and only found one option that was less premium but honestly I'd never heard of the carrier so the $500 bucks in savings wasn't worth switching.

Not sure any carrier is making money on homeowners in NTX. I'm glad I'm on the commercial side of things, at least we are starting to see a little price relief on larger property schedules, hopefully that starts trickling down to smaller property.

Good luck
