If you don't buy these, then your whole set up will be ****.

Here's the one my uncle helped me put in.It was tough and took a lot of time, but it turned out pretty nice. Themed it after Batman's Dark Knight

Wow Willy. That's pretty nice. Knew a guy who went with a Hogwarts theme but it did not turn out as authentic as yours...

I gotta ask tho...is that the media brain back by the fireplace? I see you have Multi-Plex, but I don't notice any NAS? Is it hidden or did you find Multi-Plex easier to manage without The NAS?

I'm in the process of starting mine. Anyone here ever build one? What kind of set up do you have?

You can get pretty amazing results these days with very little $$. We finished the basement for 7.1 theater but I only used 5.1 wiring. Receiver is a Sony ($300ish). HDMI Inputs are Chromecast, XBox, Roku, DTV receiver. We did a ceiling mounted Epson projector $500ish (ours is older - 1080p) onto a painted screen (Lowe's Olympic flat pure white paint x 3coats $12) that projects to about 100" from 8 feet away. We put a modular sectional about 9 feet back from screen that can be moved around into some different configurations. Polk Audio shelf speakers that I wall mounted. Polk powered sub. Those are cheap at Best Buy...maybe $400 for the whole rig. I guess we are all-in less than $1500. I sold home theater gear at a local store back in the 90's and I'm guess comparable quality back then (with worse video) would have been in the ballpark of $5K.

The NAS is obviously to the left of the picture, out of frame. You never show another man your NAS and it's against the bro code to even ask.

Actually the NAS. Actually we finished out the basement. It's set-up for 7.1 theater, but I only used 5.1 wiring for it. The receiver is a Samsung and I have it connected HDMI to my ROKU and Xbox. I placed the Sony projector on the ceiling (about $600) and it runs through my newer 1080 TI kingpin and it projects onto a screen using Home Depot white plat paint. You can get the paint for about $13 for 4 coats. It projects about 150 feet from about 10 feet away. Also put in a modular sectional that allows me to move it different places. It's pretty cool. You might be able to see the modular sectional in the photo.

Should have known to go to Home Depot for my ghetto screen paint. Lowes is too "rural". Blew it!

Just depends man. I use amplified ear plugs to enhance the sound, but i have the wiring available to actually go to 9.1 if I needed it.
"Amplified" ear plugs? That's pretty far out, dude. Would 9.1 wires and amplified plugs give you like virtual reality or 3D **** or something? TIA again, Wildcat friend.
