Yes. It's ok if you get kicked out of a bar wearing your MAGA hat, or if you happen to be Milo.

Just because somebody is made uncomfortable enough to want to leave does not mean they were thrown out. Important distinction. Remember, freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequence.

So you aren’t interpreting the Bible in a literal sense? What am I not understanding about Leviticus 11:10?

Hint: I’m not claiming I do. I’m asking a so called expert. What are the parts that are supposed to be taken literal and what are not?

I am interpreting it very literal. The Pentateuch has rules to the rules.

They see the old and new testaments as completely different in their weight and connection to the lords will, I think. It all gets really confusing and subjective as to why.

I guess us low IQ people need to realize that Christianity encompasses the only spiritual truth and provides the only ‘God’ that can be a part of a couples vows. Anything that falls outside the realm of the Christian definition should be labeled as “not marriage” so people don’t get confused about level of commitments

Where did I limit my answer to just one religion?

Where and when did I say that?
If marriage is ONLY acceptable as a label when GOD and a specific RELIGION is a part of the ceremony, then making the assertion that homosexuals should not be allowed to call their union a marriage, would automatically denote that’s true.

So can you explain to me in layman’s terms why you think it is ok to eat shellfish?

First and foremost, because Jesus fulfilled the law, but did not abolish it. I'm not on pins and needles every stinking moment ensuring I dot my t's and cross my eyes... or something like that. I try to do the best I can to mirror Jesus, and also know I will fail.

Second, within the Pentateuch, there are 3 types of laws: ceremonial, civil, moral. Civil is early Israel, and don't apply. This would such as the slave laws. Ceremonial is either priestly or cleanliness. Those don't apply for the most part, but some do. That includes shellfish. Finally, most of the moral laws still apply, that didn't get excluded due to civil laws.

Neither is homosexuality. I've been waiting on that.

You can smarten up and change your political affiliation. You can’t change your sexual orientation. I’ve also been waiting on this discussion.

I’m now curious at who decided which rules do and do not apply.

Noone has really categorized them for me. You're getting all Pharisees about it. The beatitudes takes the commandments and gives them steroids, anyways... which you'll never understand, because you were one that laughed at Pence and not being alone with another woman.

Yea my feeble mind can’t process being afraid to be amongst other women than my wife.

It's not being afraid. I do the same, except for my one on one's at work. I won't eat lunch with any one woman not my wife, etc.

i think it doesn’t matter because Jesus gave everybody a get out of hell free card, as long as you “accept” it

I just know that it would royally suck to spend my whole life trying to be a genuinely good person, husband and father. No lying, murdering, stealing, raw dogging porn stars, etc. Only to get turned away because I ordered a side of shrimp scampi one night at Red Lobster.

And if I truly believed that may be a possibility...I’m going to need that **** in writing that I’m ok skirting around some verses. Not that Apollonia from Minnetonka said that maybe those are hopefully kinda sorta OBE.

Does that include your mother or your sister? What about an aunt? I’m just curious where the line is drawn.

I do not recall limiting my response to just one relgion. In fact, if you pay attention, you'll find an earlier response where i included judism and islam as well. So when you're ready to stop making stuff up, let me know...and we can further this conversation.

So a Christian homosexual couple would be able to call it marriage? A reform Jew? A Unitarian?

Really? That's a good one.

Yes, really.

I’d imagine choosing your sexual orientation would have to be a fairly profound moment in your life. Talk about a life altering decision. To decide whether you were sexually attracted to males or females. That would seem to be something that would stick with you. I can remember choosing which color I wanted for my first bike...I remember choosing the name of my first pet. But yet I have no recollection of choosing to be sexually attracted to women. I just was and still am. Odd that I don’t recall thinking about it for even one second, no?

But apparently you do. How old were you when you made that choice? Did you consult anybody else? Ever have any second thoughts? Since sexual orientation is a choice to you....do you have to actively choose what sex you are attracted to each and every day? You would almost have to since it’s just a choice, like you say. Like...say one day just on a whim...you can choose to be sexually attracted to men? (I’m assuming you’re male). It’s a choice you would have to make each and every time you were feeling amorous. If you’re not actively making that decision every day, then it doesn’t seem like it is much of a choice, does it? Having to choose which sex you are attracted to each and every day seems exhausting. My wife and I can’t even decide what we want for dinner on most nights.

My reply was more about changing ones sexual orientation regarding people that opt to go with the physical options available today. I personally think people know at a very young age what their orientation is. Having to choose which way to go based on "societal norms" vs. "human desires" is a tough choice to make.......but I think that choice is easier now than at any other time in history. I'm thankful that I have never had to make that choice.

Marriage is a biblical term for a lot of us. It's is recognized in the bible as between a man and woman. I know that is hard for you to understand. I agree on civil unions but not marriage since the bible is what marriage is founded on.

God changed the sexual orientation of Sodom and Gomorrah when he burned the cities with fire and brimstone..

The one and only profound thing I ever heard Larry King say was in reference the idea that those that are gay much just be gay rather than choosing to be so. It was this (speaking to a male):

"When you started liking girls, did you decide to like them or did you just start liking them? You didn't decide, instead you just started liking them. If you didn't decide to start liking people of the opposite sex then why do you think that gay people decide to start liking people of the same sex?"

You haven’t paid attention to what I’ve been saying. If your civil union is part of a religious ceremony, then it is a marriage - after all a marriage is a religious function. If you get united in front of a judge, you’ve engaged in a civil union, becasue the union was officiated by a civil servant. In my mind, there is no difference (legally) between the two.

...but why do you care?

Pretty sure God can handle people breaking his rules without your help.

Zero impact on your life.

Yeah...what did happen to live and let live?

I’m not bothered and don’t really care about very silly (they all are...) religious rituals but rather just entertained. When children talk/listen/attempt to communicate with imaginary friends it’s cute but when adults do it...not so much. Again...still entertaining.....
