I care about this season and always WVU . Hated the the basketball season ended and baseball never started. As far as political protest our country was based on political protest. Rioting is one thing and criminal but protesting is a first admendment right. I grew up in the late 60's and 70's and saw my share of protesting.

Not real excited about the season but I appreciate them playing and trying too play. The more functions that go forward help put pressure on the rule makers to stop being so draconian. I'd feel sorry for the players and students at the school who would miss out on a WVU season.

Imagine being at WVU without your football season? You only get so many opportunities to have that experience. You take a way football and other sports, close bars and punish kids for having a party - what's the point of even going to WVU then? Just enroll at an online school.

Watching the B1G and their fans squirm has provided a fun twist.

With cry baby Herbstreit you already saw the direction they are taking college football this year so I'm not going to watching, other things to do anyways.

It's been a rough year and just happens to be during an election year. I am ready for some WVU sports distraction. But politics is beginning to interfere with that enjoyment as is the virus. If not for being an election year would things have been just a bit different? I think so.

I'm excited to see some Mountaineer football and especially some basketball.

Question for me is how fast will they shut it all down if virus begins slamming colleges like mustard on a ham sandwich?

Good post, but I would like to add the biggest factor of all, and that's Donald J. Trump being President. Liberals want to do all they can to bring down his Presidency, including making everyday Americans as miserable as they possibly can. Here's to hoping DJT is re-elected in November, and many on the left will put a stop to their BS. Those in charge of the foolishness will soon be going through their own reelection efforts, and as they say, payback is a *****.

No way to prove this, but I'd bet that those that say they "won't watch" will indeed watch. It's easy to say this behind a computer. By the way, I'm 7'2" and 350 LBS. Don't f**k with me. [roll]

Anyone who looks at sports with any political glasses on should just mute the TV and watch it. If you don't like the stickers on their helmets, or whatever else may be on the uniform, big whoop. It's sports. It's entertainment. And I get entertained when WVU (or any other of my favorite sports teams) perform well. I get upset when they don't. Politics has nothing to do with any of it, at least for me.

Can't wait for Saturday.

You and your anti-American antifa pals would burn your own houses down if you turned on the WVU game and saw a red MAGA logo at the 50 yard line instead of the flying WV logo.

Why are you lumping me in with that group? You don't know me. I'm against ANTIFA. I don't care who wears a MAGA hat.

I will check the score out of curiosity. Right now, I don't care who wins. I will root for EKU if any anthem stunts occur before the game.

Right, because everyone would be OK if players wore NRA stickers or pro-life messages on their jerseys....Drew Brees had to give an apology for simply stating he thinks people should stand for the anthem. How narrow minded is that?

OP made a mistake when he said no one is happy about the decision

Either he is lying or he lives in a bubble

You are going to meet people in life who have totally different opinions than you
Either you listen or you push them out.

Regarding Drew Brees. He had an opinion that I once had. He even said he didn't think about it too much. But once he did he didn't see it as unpatriotic.

I allowed myself to get caught up as well. Once I realized that I served so people have the right to protest it was much different
What changed, for me, was the perception of the protest during the 1968 Mexico City Olympics.
Those men were considered heroes and still are. Something has definitely changed.

They are pushing out any opinioms that aren't liberal/progressive, so you are just being a hypocrite....this is just paid for campaign work for Democrats.

Brees got mobbed by the PC police, who werent willing to listen to his own opinion, the exact thing you are accusing others of doing.

Just ignore the program and the sport. It's no big deal, let them create a political bubble for themselves and drive out large portions of their fans...they can let the mob by season tickets.

Unless you are a Democrat who wants to disband and defund the police WVU doesnt want you as a fan, they hate you. They just want their money to support their radical political movements.

You mean just like how you guys are pushing the enforcement of standing during the anthem?

Its proper etiquette to stand and show respect to the flag and national anthem. They are not being punished for showing disrespect, we think they are wrong for doing it.

They want to protest without others having the ability to judge them on their actions.

WVU is allowing certain protests if it pushes their liberal agenda. They would not tolerate a protest that was conservative in nature...ask them to wear a Blue Lives Matter sticker on their helmets and find out.

This is just laundering campaign donations in an election year, and hate against police officers and their families.

Would it be disrespectful if I sat during the Canadian anthem? Or for Russia?

Would I be called a hero?

You don't have to like what they do. That's where you are not understanding my point. I'm not saying they should do it, and I have said multiple times I will always stand. However, I'm not going to let someone else dictate me turning my back on my favorite sports team because they kneel, or have a sticker, or tweeted something (unless it was anti-WVU).

People do things all the time that I don't like. That's them, not me. I do what I do. I like what I like. I watch what I watch.

Fine, same for everyone else. Watching far left political protests dont appeal to me, so I'm not going to watch anymore, attend or donate.

That's your option. However, it appears some of you guys are judging others who are like me by lumping us in with ANTIFA or the protests or the kneeling, just because we won't boycott with you guys and have a sausage party.

So, if you avoid football....and probably basketball........why are you still posting on here?

Vernon never did anything to me, no reason to boycott him.

And I'm not really boycotting, just doing something else with my time and dollars.

Right, because all white people are evil and in the KKK.

We have ones in this country who feel victimized for whatever reason.

This was the plan of the "White Supremacist". They knew normal racism wouldn't work so they played it off as whites were the victims.

Because of the demographic changes in this country it is becoming even more noticable.

You have two choices...
Realize that race doesn't matter and power doesn't stay with one race
Or like I have said before we go backwards as a country even to a point of laws to keep whites in power....

Do you want to be a victim?

Do you somehow see blacks, females, Mexicans, **** or whoever having a voice as somehow stepping on your own

These are serious questions.

If you are a white straight Christian male and feel afraid...
You are going to have a lot of ******** placed in your head.
Because these are the people the Republican Party are targeting.

A lot of us are disgusted by it. There is no reason for it and will only take our country backwards.

Like I have said

I believe in America. Don't care if you came from Norway, Zimbabwe or El Salvador. America is strong enough as a country to handle people from everywhere who look different

We already determined the country we live in.
People who are 18-30 year old will determine the country they will live in.

Something that happens in every generation but because these changes are demographic based it is hard for some people to take ...

When you think of an American in your mind.

Most of you have the idea of a white man.

If you are over 50 years old you should realize that you fighting an uphill battle and are going to be angry the rest of your life

Should just enjoy life and understand that these younger people for whatever reason don't think we went far enough.
Especially considering these younger people aren't as white as people who are 50+

Should just enjoy retirement and not worry so much.
Because we already determined what country we live in and those decisions are coming to roost today....

No, you are not hearing it correctly. If someone does something that I don't like, but it doesn't change the GAME, then it doesn't bother me. As far as I'm concerned, if they didn't do an anthem at all, or they were to kneel during it, the TD's would still be 6 points and 1st downs would still be 10 yards.

Now, I would completely understand your point if after every 1st down the PA guy would say "this 1st down was brought to you by Black Lives Matter.....Say Their Names!".

Watch an NBA game this season, its nearly at that point. Tried watching a game and broadcasters had a 3 minute conversation about school funding and how wrong it is zip codes effect schools....sports broadcasters, during live action.

Ok, here's how you prevent that from bothering you............again, totally understand your frustration, but the baskets are still worth 2 points and 3 points, scoring still the same, and the game hasn't changed.

I'm not trying to be a d!ck. And I don't mind people who protest. I don't mind people who boycott. But I do mind when I read supposed WVU fans saying things like "I'll cheer for EKU". I do care when people get on here and blast WVU. Some may see that as a double-standard, I don't. I see it as me sticking up for the team I support.
