The Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced today that University of Louisville senior forward Emily Endstler senior guard Kianna Smith and sophomore guard Hailey Van Lith have been named region finalists for 2022 WBCA NCAA Division I Coaches' All-America.
The selection committee will choose the 10-member Coaches' All-America team from 52 finalists. The 2022 WBCA NCAA Division I Coaches' All-America team will be announced Thursday, March 31.
Engstler had 12 points and 11 rebounds vs. Gonzaga ...her 11th double-double, which ranks fourth in the ACC and are the most by a UofL player since Kylee Shook had 11 during the 2019-20 season. She leads the ACC and ranks 24th in the NCAA with 2.7 steals per game, ranks third in the ACC with 9.1 rebounds per game and ranks fifth with 1.8 blocks per game. She has led UofL in rebounds in 28 of 31 games.
Van Lith has put up 20 points in both NCAA Tournament games, with 20 against UAlbany and 21 against Gonzaga. She has six 20-point games this season and nine for her career. She leads the team in scoring with 14.0 points per game and has led the team in scoring 13 times. She has made at least one 3-pointer in 20 of the last 25 games.
Smith ranks second on the team with 11.9 points per game and nine times this season has led the team in scoring. She ranks fourth in the ACC with a 38.3 3-point field goal percentage and ranks eighth with 1.9 made 3-pointers per game. In ACC play, she ranked eighth in the league with 3.4 assists per game and her 2.64 assist-to-turnover ratio led the ACC.
