After they draft Paige or Johnson they will then give a max deal to the Black Pigeon.
I think there is a real future in the NBA for 4-corners basketball. The hornets must be boring to watch, because I know UNC is!
This reminded me of JP Tokoto opting out early. He got drafted just barely, then got waived during the preseason and has been in the D-league ever since. I doubt he's made much money. He's still a sub 30% 3-point shooter with crazy hops. I doubt he ever gets the chance to show off that leaping ability in the NBA. Paige will have to be very lucky as well. There aren't many roster spots for guys shorter than 6'3. There must be like 50 guys shorter than that, most of whom are athletic freaks or ball handling wizards like Paul or Parker. I'm rooting for Paige. He's a great young man.Si.com posted NBA draft analysis from Chicago & Paige notes were "not strong, shot disapeared after soph year & can't get to the rim against NBA level defense. Don't see any chance at NBA roster spot". Thought that was quite harsh.

Brutal, but likely accurate. He seems like a good dude, but learning a second language is probably in his future.
Unfortunately a lot of those spots tend to go to guys like an aging vet- like Andre Miller etc.I doubt Paige would pursue a professional basketball career overseas. I think he would just find another career path.
I think there's a place for him in the NBA though. Or at least, there should be. You can't tell me that Paige isn't better than Boban Marjanovic (who is supposedly the third most efficient player in the NBA). I kid, I kid. But for real though, Paige, for his high character, big shot making ability and leadership skills, seems like a good guy to have on your team taking up the 13th spot. Hopefully there are at least a few coaches out there that see his value.

No roster spot for the three time preseason ACC POY??Si.com posted NBA draft analysis from Chicago & Paige notes were "not strong, shot disapeared after soph year & can't get to the rim against NBA level defense. Don't see any chance at NBA roster spot". Thought that was quite harsh.
I'd honestly take Quinn Cook before Paige.I doubt Paige would pursue a professional basketball career overseas. I think he would just find another career path.

link is somewhere on SI.com NBA page. So many new stories on there I cannot locate it.No roster spot for the three time preseason ACC POY??
OFC
I'd honestly take Quinn Cook before Paige.
That would just be a homer pick and that's ok. Because Cook doesn't do anything better than Paige. For their college careers, Paige has better numbers (although closer than I would have thought) in every major statistical category except FT% (.853 to .844). And Paige is a better athlete, a superior defender and was the leader of the team for 3 years. The only thing that might lean in Cook's favor between the two would be the fact that Marcus has had trouble staying healthy.
Head to head Quinn usually won their matchupdAnd player efficiency rating too. Cook had a PER of 18.8 versus Paige's 17.8. Again, nothing to beat your chest about, but Cook was a little more efficient.
Paige averaged more minutes over his career;
Interesting. That would just be a homer pick and that's ok. Because Cook doesn't do anything better than Paige.
Why do you think that is?
Interesting.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but I think Quinn was better at winning a national title game.![]()
Beacuse Cook played on a better team. UNC didn't have any other options; Stilman White started the last game before Paige arrived on campus.
Paige scored 5 points or less in 3 of the 6 games he faced Cook.
Paige/Cook were both great college players, but neither one has a high NBA ceiling. Either one could I suppose could play a couple seasons in the league, but their production would be minimal. I'm only contesting your argument that picking Cook over Paige is a homer pick. Based on college stats, it's hardly a homer pick. He was slightly more efficient.
Neither were great college players. Both had one 'great' season. I think the big edge for Cook is that he progressed each year where you could easily argue that Paige regressed.Beacuse Cook played on a better team. 5-1 against Paige right? I recall Paige and Johnson celebrating like kids who'd just won their Little League championship after they finally won at Cameron Indoor^That too.
You toss around labels like "homer" and like to talk about objectivity, and yet you want to rely on your own "eye test" to confirm that Paige is better? Interesting. But there is this thing called the eye test. And I think that if you were being truthful, you'd admit that Paige scores far higher marks in that department than Quinn Cook.
