Guard might be his best position.
I also think he would be a great right tackle.
Might help the line more overall there.
I think we have a lot more guard types to use.

Yenser has really no excuse now if we can't have a solid OLine

1. Cox was a dang good guard 2 last year...and 1 year of Center under his belt
2. Cox out of portal was higher rated LT
3. Horsey back at LG...a spot he's been really good 2 years before Yensesr
4. Burton...more years to add strength
5. Flax...I still don't get why he plays...but he's got RT candidates

If he has a bad year, I'd blame Coen a bit and no rope for Yenser

The fascination with Flax is confusing

So obviously Burton to RG. Buford back with experience is big. Wonder if Wilson will return? He has filled in some and has some experience. Then you have Bowles coming in with some experience at AL. I still would like to have one more OT from the portal.

Having Horsey back at the guard spot is awesome. He was very good at that spot. On top of this, Horsey is a great young man and a natural leader. Never thought we would be gifted another year with him. You go big # 68!

Are we actually better off with Horsey at OG instead of RT? Did the kid from Bama really transfer here to be a backup?

What's the most logical starting Oline in your opinion?

No disrespect but I’ll take a 6th year player, who played out of position to help the team, who is without question a leader, with true NFL potential over “the kid from Bama”. I honestly think that is a ridiculous question.

Who plays RT and does that make the Oline the best it can be?

I don't know how well Hall has been playing in practice. He has the size and feet. Just don't know how smart he is to always carry out his assignment. Buford gives us much more quickness at RT. They said that carrying out his assignments at times is what he needed to work on. Flax does not move well enough at RT but his size and I suppose his doing what he is suppose to do pretty consistently is why he has held that position. If Goodwin comes back I believe Stoops said that learning his assignments better and getting a little quicker was the two things he needed to do to get better. Bowles is said to be a guard but he is only 295 so is that big enough to get the job done? All of that is question marks right now till that can reevaluate through spring practice. That is why I said I wish we could get another experienced OT out of the portal so we have that for sure piece to get the line back to the way we are used to. JMO

Horsey will be at LG, where he should be. He is not an OT and is not coming back to UK to play out of position again for his last year. He is coming back to improve his draft stock because it was hurt by playing OT this year. Glad to have him back.

This horsey is a really good guard average at best tackle. But horseys average tackle > other tackles that was on roster horse stepped in and preformed to best of his ability, probably goes back to his preferred spot this year and bolsters his stock.

Kenneth is exceptionally team oriented, reminds me of darrian kinnard playing out of position for the team (and dropping in stock) (Those Schlarman guys were the epitome of team players reflection of coach.

I couldn’t agree more.

You put your best people in the place they fit best. You fill in the blanks with the next best after that. Horsey played the tackle spot OK. That’s not where he belonged. Me being a Monday morning quarterback, it was a disservice to the team and him. Bet he raises his stock this year at guard, and the team will be better because of it.

Horsey is back

Big shot in arm to get Horsey back and supposedly he's a going back to gaurd.
For sure. Horsey is an average FBS OT, but potentially an all conference OG. Our OL was pretty bad in 2022, and I would say it is the single biggest (not the only) factor in the majority of the 6 losses. Our OL needs to be rebuilt. Looks like the early starting projection is LT- Marques Cox, LG- Horsey, C- Eli Cox, RG- Tanner Bowles or Jaden Burton, RT- Jeremy Flax or Deondre Buford. I am not talking about my personal preferences, which are irrelevant. Just saying this looks like what will probably happen. All of these players will practice in the spring. There is a lot of circumstantial evidence that Stoops is still looking to take one more OT through the transfer portal, but that individual (if it happens) would not enroll until August.

When Stoops got Dare Rosenthal out of the portal, it didn't happen until June.
