Anybody ever gotten out of a room where they say there is no cancelation? Long story short, booked a room for a wedding through a third party at the wrong damn rate. Sadly, fund out a few days later the wedding rate is over a hundred a night cheaper..

Third party? That creates an issue. Are they the ones with the no cancellation policy? Maybe tell them the truth and hope they have some compassion. Or, see if the hotel can cancel it on your behalf and rebook with them at the group rate?

Good luck with the third party. Your dealing with computers. Always book direct.

Having worked in the business for a long time, in sales and marketing, if the request ever reached my desk I’d rebate if the property sold out especially if the rate was a discounted rate.

Otherwise, the policy was enforced.

But chances are they aren’t busy if the property is selling on a third party site.

I pulled up the hotel, "Gaylord palms" online, scrolled down and that was the number I called, no clue it was a third party, I've gotten the correct number and called the Gaylord and they say there is nothing they can do on their end.

I called the third party and lied through my teeth. Got out of it. The third party usually gives you one free “out”

#NittanyBuff, your problem is the wedding host failed to reserve a room for you with the wedding rate. I have been to wedding out-of-state in which the host makes the reservarion, and I pay the wedding rate. Same applied to convention I attended.
