What were the talking heads yapping about after the game ? I missed it.
Well, everyone was stunned because all they did all night was edit Cooper Flagg highlights. They didn’t have anything from Houston.

Quit watching when Duke was up double figures in second half. Appreciate the highlights.
I hope they show this epic collapse as the lead into every March Madness tourney from here on in.

The way Duke choked away their late game lead, you would have thought that they were coached by John Calipari.
This is what happens when a team depends upon freshmen, no matter how good they are. Been happening to Duke all year.

They sounded depressed. Kenny finally got around to talking about the championship game. Kenny sounded like Phil Conners in ground hog day the second day he relived his experience "Well, It's Ground Hog Day Again". The cadence and energy was spot on.
So, I decided to watch The Residence instead. Was keeping an eye on the score and was thinking I made the right viewing decision. Imagine my surprise!! So, given how the game was appearing to be going, is it correct to assume it was a massive Duke slurpfest the entire game? (That's why I chose not to watch in the first place)

That had Flagg’s DNA all over it. He blew the switch for a three. He didn’t block out for a follow up dunk. Over the back on free throw miss for two free throws. Way short on the fade away in the lane.

Not calling a time out was continued brilliance by Sampson. Duke didn't have any and those freshmen were never going to organize the win under those circumstances. Sampson even guarded the inbound passer.
Glory to God, Hallelujah!! Anybody but Duke! I just haven't been able to make myself even look at basketball since Kentucky lost.

1) No matter how many times I watch this video, I’ll always be astonished that the ref called over-the-back at the end of the game.

Very good move by Sampson -- down 6 with 1:14 to go and Duke with the ball. He elected NOT TO FOUL. Trusted his defense. They got the stop and went on to win.

I don’t know the name. Does he have any kind of reputation as a ref?
Is that the motion for over the top by the ref there because it looks like he didnt make a signal, just pointed at Flagg for the foul. Because I thought over the top was a different hand gesture . Its possible the announcers assumed it was over the top because the actual foul was pinning down the Houston players arms and flagg using his right hand under the guys arm pit to shove him out of the way. That is a foul and that angle he had he'd be able to see the right hand of Flagg doing it.
This game put me in a great mood and normally I don’t keep watching when we lose. Happy I saw that cal special choke job. Couldn’t happen to a better program or fanbase
The pivotal sequence was the steal where the ball caromed off of two guys before the UH player snagged it out of the air. Great reflexes and reaction.
When the guy got the pass and ran straight to the 3 point line I first thought it was a dumb move but the Duke defense was scrambling and no blockout on the putback dunk made it a smart gamble. Just a great effort by Houston.
Putting Flagg in an iso was not a great call in my opinion. Put him in pick and roll and make the other team make a read. They were obviously going to put it in Flagg’s hands but the iso was dumb IMO.

Still, you don't deserve to win when you only make one shot in the last 10 minutes, turn it over, and miss a crucial 1 and 1 free throw.
What was questionable about it? He was over his back from behind, and making contact. They let the Duke center get away with being over a Houston player earlier in the game.
In honor of Duke's meltdown my household is gonna watch Duke's earlier choke job against Kentucky earlier this year when I get home from work tonight and they all get in from church.
I wish they would too, but CBS will never show highlights of duke losing a game like that. Since this was an epic comeback by Houston, they should but Duke will be spared as losers for future March madness highlights.
