And what Home Depot (and Lowe's) did to the neighborhood hardware stores.

Going way back, McDonald's, Hardees, Long John, KFC, Druthers and Pizza Hut put the hammer down on the few mom-n-pop places we had in my old home town that had been open for years.

These places absolutely crushed Rax in Louisville. Rax didn't have a chance.

How is Hardees still a thing?

Thanks for the video; however, that GD background music got old quick.

It appears you walk into Rose's beginning about 2:30 in. I guess JC Penney, a long-time mall anchor store, permanently closes soon. Nice cutaway to Wally World located next door.

Perhaps Amazon could take over the JCP location.

That ain't really me lol.

Just some goofy video I found on Youtube the other night.

But yeah the Middlesboro Mall is about dead.

The JCPenny is closing. And so is the movie theater.

Somebody mentioned the other day that JCP has been in Middlesboro for like 50 years, going back to the one that was downtown.

Arbitraging the USPS's under priced service (free in the case of media) into the largest store ever is not what I consider "natural".

Appreciate the video. I love going to empty malls, its fascinating. They clearly need to become something else. I think a mall could be successful is you filled it with top golf, food trucks, glass blowing, foosball, candle makers, board game bars, and maker spaces. Then the big end cap stores would be home depot, Michaels, and hot topic!

Yeah, I'm one who's fascinated by abandoned places.

Old malls are like stepping back in time.

Don't know if you've ever been to East Town Mall in Knoxville.

A huge full 2 story mall that was a major shopping destination back in the day.

It closed back in January.

Wife and I went into it like a week before Christmas.

Place was almost completely empty. It was ghostly remembering how full of life it used to be and seeing what it became.

Here's a pretty cool video of it in it's last days.

Hardee's = most popular breakfast and lunch joint in Harrogate, TN. True story. Cars lined up at least 6-7 deep daily in the COVID-19 era.

Movie theater closing? Really? Wow! My daughter and I saw a flick there years ago. Back in 2003-2006 or so, my step-father loved watching movies at AMC in Middlesboro Mall because he got senior citizens discount.

Wow. Just wow.

Rax made a really good, high quality roast beef sandwich, I was a big fan when they were around, but I'm pretty sure it was Arby's that pushed them aside, which is unfortunately because Arby's "roast beef" is literally 1 grade above dog food. I never eat there.

I do agree with others about Hardees breakfast, I mean the biscuits, gravy, and sausage etc. is a heart attack on a plate, but man is it good.😋

This really sucks, actually. Think of how malls have played a role in life:

- Fast Times at RH
- Weird Science
- weird *** Tom Petty videos
- Blues Brothers
