How big is Friday night?

I can’t think of a Louisville coach that has needed a win more than Satterfield needs on Friday.

I don’t think he will lose his team with a loss but he will lose another huge chuck of the fan base with another bad performance. At that point he will be a dead man walking with the fans. Once fans turn it is really hard to keep a program on the tracks. Everything gets harder mainly fundraising and recruiting.

I am expecting a big performance because the staff knows or should know how big this game for them.

This is certainly the most important game in his tenure. If we lose the attendance at games will be really, really bad. So much negativity around UofL men’s athletics right now.

I worry that if he loses this game it snowballs. I've made my prediction on this game and I think he not only loses tomorrow nights game but he loses by 2+ scores. I think if that happens and then Louisville goes on the road vs teams that aren't very good, but they're road games against teams they could easily lose to FSU and Wake. Come back home to play BC and UVA - same thing, two schools they could easily lose to even if they play well. Then they get NC State and Clemson - two games that most people thought they would lose even when everyone was high on the team before the season the started. Then they end with Duke, Cuse and UK.

Its not out of the realm of possibility they go into that ending 3 game stretch having lost 7 games in a row.

This game is huge and I hope I'm wrong about how it goes.

Unfortunately, just getting 11 on the field is progress. Getting plays called in quickly.

Do these things and we have a win most likely.

Keep doing it, and we get more wins.

But yes, I said before that Ol Miss (and vicariously the $EC) was our biggest game ever.

Now? That “honor” falls to UCF and the AAC.

It’s not just for Satt it’s huge for the program. We’ve got to get this thing turned around because a coaching change will only slow the process more, plus who knows if the next guy will be successful.

I believe it's unrealistic to label this game a must win for the program or Coach Satt. Prior to the season, when discussions of final records were taking place, most realistic fans predicted the UCF game as a toss up or tight game. Although we looked pretty anemic in the first half against Ole Miss and lost convincingly, that was a predicted loss by the vast majority in preseason projections. It's a little unfair to place so much emphasis on getting THIS win, in a matchup we didn't expect (hoped, yes; expected, not so much) to win preseason. It's setting us up to prematurely give up on the team, coach and season, if we don't win a game we didn't have much confidence in winning going into the season anyways. Having said all that, if we look like we did in the first half against Ole Miss and lose convincingly...then perhaps the sky IS falling on the team, coach and season.

Early in the season for this kind of game.
Both teams looking for a statement.

Louisville plays well, even close loss...momentum shifts going into conference.
Louisville wins, it's a quality win. Lots of momentum.
Blowout loss....tough to recover.
College football anything can happen.
No injuries is the big one.
