Funny stuff!!! I actually laughed out loud!! Sure Mac did too!! All kidding aside I just thought it was pretty cool how Mac kept pushing the idea of zone and caught a lot of opposition for it, yet stuck w/it...Pretty cool stuff . Props to him....What time's the flight???

Bottom line tim0 is it worked yesterday. I've never said it was the solution to all the problems, but it did work when the staff tried it. I even said your point about the 2/3 press works and like you said it's not sustainable long stretches cause of the depth of Duke, but as soon as someone suggests something else, oh no, the coaches know what they're doing, we hear about zone every year. The point here, and I'll type slow so you can understand: it was put in cause they were destroying us in penetration and Duke took that away from them and changed the momentum of Louisville! If you need more help, let me know

Definitely will, I'm just a hall monitor. Continue to educate me! After all, all I do Is blindly follow the staff and have the other hall monitor clean up my mess.

I guess it's ok for you to suggest something, point out that I suggest something, and yet I'm still in a bucket that "how dare you criticize the coaches."

Exactly you just raised the idea of the alternative defense. It took their paint domination away, and K clearly trumped Pitino w/the move....Surely everybody knows its not a constant, but yesterday was the charm.... OFC

Hey Hart, sorry I'm just getting back to you. Been on phone with Coach K, he wants to know how soon you and I can get there. He's walking around in circles trying to come up with a game plan. I put him on hold and said I'd check my schedule. Can you fly out? I'll get my plane out of the hangar and gas it up. Can OAD fly us so we can discuss this serious matter?

Why did it take so long for the coaches to go to this as it's been apparent for some time this team had trouble guarding people?? This defense also allows this really thin team to not have to chase and commit dumb fouls.

Now me? I'm thinking that Coach K will probably do something that an all-time winning coach might do to win a game. Man-to-Man? Zone? Half-court trap? Full-court press? I thinking -- maybe, maybe, maybe, and maybe. Just wanted to have the bases covered.

I didn't say you were wrong to suggest anything. I said that K probably has had his reasons as to why it wouldn't work, in his opinion. Today it worked. You thinking this was some big revelation you had is humorous. We've played zone before today, this season. It wasn't very successful until today. I'm happy it worked. Louisville being a below-average shooting team and not making free throws helped too. The zone wasn't the difference we won today. It played a part, but we don't get to play tomorrow just because of the zone. We're playing tomorrow because Louisville missed some opportunities and because three kids named Grayson, Luke and Jayson played like stars down the stretch.

Dukiejay -- like you said, many reasons for the win. However, I think the main one was the switch to zone. Mac has brought this up lately and I think he nailed it.

Coach K isn't always right and he is not perfect but he is so close. That's why hof coach roy williams just can't deal with it. OFC
