I ran some scenarios, and it is shocking how close it could've been based off the possible outcomes. Yes, you could say we over-performed, but I wouldn't...we didn't get our 10 champs.
-Troy not snatching victory from the jaws of defeat and doubling up Vrob. +1.5 *terrible draw, if he were on the bottom side, his tournament could've went much different.
-Dee just wrestling to seed, no bonus. +13
-Facundo wrestling to seed, no bonus. +5
-Casey getting it done against Van Ness. +11
-team point penalties. +2
Penn State losing Van Ness's points with a quarterfinal defeat. -6
That has it at 175.5 to 165.5, which is super, super uncomfortable for Cael.
Now, I know this is an absolute in best case scenarios for us. But it doesn't include much bad case scenario for PSU.
So, say we got some better draws and PSU got some worse draws...and we get some more bonus. Son, it would've been a team race!
