Why did the Coach Stoops era melt down like this? I guess I should have trusted my gut when I saw him lose to WKU his first season here. I knew something was wrong when I watched that game.

I really believed in Coach Stoops until today. It is over. He is done. This is just as bad as Joker Phillips. Stoops has way more talent than Joker and his teams now look the same. Just awful.

Help me understand. Why can UK football never be turned around?

We have an athletics director that had a chance to hire Mike Leach, Bobby Petrino and Sonny Dykes, yet went with a completely unproven HC after he just had a meltdown with another coordinator who had never coached in Joker.

I wonder if the problem is that he does not really embrace the air-raid system. Any coach that thinks he can come to Kentucky and win without a gimmick is sadly mistaken.

We keep hiring coaches that make bad decisions. Stoops had no experience as a head coach. He meddled with the offense. He continued to pick the wrong players. He didn't show a 6th sense when the players were starting to check out. His stay the course mind set led to the entire team checking out. It's clear that the players no longer trust him. Players that were benched for minor mistakes are developing a bad attitude when our QB makes epic meltdowns continued for 2 years to be untouchable. The team doesn't trust the coaching staff. The opportunity to turn this around ended about 3 weeks ago. I don't see this as fixable now. Even if Stoops can turn it around the team doesn't trust him. He'll have to spend 4 more years recruiting a totally new roster.

I'd like Dykes, but not the other two. I just cannot wrap my head around how bad Stoops is melting down.

Vandy is methodically moving down the field. I don't know what it is - lack of pride, poor preparation, whatever, etc, etc.

Stoops needed to hire experience and didn't do it.

Can't have the whole staff learn on the job
