It's a bit of an offseason topic, and with only a month to go before basketball practice officially gets underway I thought it would be a fun discussion. How did you start posting here, or maybe better yet, how did you find out about the board and what compelled you to register an account?
I'll start. It was back in 2002. My friend, a Tar Heel fan nonetheless, worked in the media world in the Raleigh/Durham market(s) and told me about the site. At the time, Carolina Blue (now Radar) was much more active than here. I registered as dukiej and probably posted more at that board than I did here. I never really got that into it and actually went almost a whole year without posting after the UConn debacle in 2004. When I finally came back I had forgot my password and created the account I have now.
Since then I've been a steady regular and the board has really seen an uptick in participation from around the 2006 season and on. With a young family, a busy job and so much going on this has always been a nice escape from reality for me. In addition to that, you get to know many of the posters, and despite probably never meeting 99% of the people you post with on an almost daily basis, I have no qualms about calling many of you friends.
Thought this could kind of be fun. So let's hear it....
