I've got a possible answer, but would love to hear some opinions. As a teaser, make Shelby and the rest throw long!
I agree with all that Seadog. We route read #2.
Good D Line and a nice game-plan does the trick.
Exactly, but you can also read #1 or inside-out with trips. The key is to first read run-pass through the line and then receivers if pass.
#3 inside-out in trips is almost always a clear out guy, X him out.
Rinse and repeat?Pressure the QB, sack, hit, get in his face. Jam WRs break up the timing.
To me if a high school team has the talent a spread offense can not be stopped. Shelby has had the talent and won like 46 of last 48.
The problem is that no matter how good your d line is, the ball is out of the qb's hand very quickly, and from the shotgun.
Truer words were never written. To me if a high school team has the talent a spread offense can not be stopped. Shelby has had the talent and won like 46 of last 48.
Stop the inside zone running play with a big DL and take away the short passing is the goal. It is all about match-ups and planning.
