How do you think the Longhorns will do this year?

They still have a major problem at Q-B in my opinion. They have a decent defense, but can they win against Baylor, TCU, OSU and UWV? We need to beat them this year. Thoughts?

On paper and 5 months prior to the season, the Texas schedule looks tough. My early guess is 3-4 losses among teams like Notre Dame at home, California away, OU, OSU away, Baylor at home, West Virginia at home, and TCU at home.
The good news for Texas are the home games for four of those opponents, but Notre Dame in the first game....even in Austin...will be challenging. This team needs to hit the ground running but the quarterbacking may not make this possible.

Still a young team with no passing game. DLine is talented but not proven.
Is Swoops is the starter - 8-4 max but most likely 7-5.

If they go with the true Frosh
7-5 max but probably 6-6.

Horns are due to take a step forward this year. Can easily see them at 9-3. They will beat one or two of the top contenders. Just hope it is not OU but it just might be unless Bob Stoops stops saying the RRS is just another game on the schedule. Been head coach at OU 15 years and still does not know that this is the most important game on the schedule? Whats up with that. Definitely not another game to the Horns and you could see their enthusiasm the last two years.

6-6, maybe 7-5. A lot can happen between now and the start of the season, but not sure if they've improved enough/deep enough at QB, RB and D-line to think they'll win more than 7 or 8 games.

Notre Dame - L
UTEP - W
@ Cal - L
@ OSU - W
OU - L
@ KSU - W
Baylor - L
@ Tech - W
WVU - L
@ KU - W
TCU - L

One of my UT buddies at work today was talking about their true freshman QB they just signed looking really good. Outside of that he doesn't have much hope in the other QBs. He is mostly amped up about their defense. All he talks about is the sick talent UT has signed in the last few recruiting classes that is building up. He says overall UT should be pretty solid this year, then next year UT should be...quote..."like a 20 foot anaconda". LOL :D:D

All time Top 10 winning percentages since Strong arrival at Texas:

2014, 6. Oklahoma 850-317-53 .7184 8. Texas 881-346-33 .7123
2015, 5. Oklahoma 861-326-53 .7198 7. Texas 886-353-33 .7095

New comer to Div. 1A, Old Dominion fell from number 4 all time wining to number 12 during Charlie's tenure at Texas.

I like Texas losses.

It sounds like Texas won a spring game National Title over the weekend. The Freshman threw for 300 yards and at a 50% completion rate against that vaunted Texas D.

Strong has indicated that he would not be concerned if freshman Shane Buchele started against Notre Dame in the opening game of the season in Austin.
Regardless of how he does in that game, if Buechele can develop quickly, he could be much better by the time Texas plays OU, 4 games later.
We can say what we will about the shaky state of UT football right now, but we have said the same thing for at least the past three years and have seen Texas defeat (and upset) OU twice in those 3 years....and the 2014 game was almost pulled out by Texas late in the game as OU almost squandered a 31-13 lead in the 4th quarter, winning 31-26.
This year's game should be another tough battle....and if Mayfield gets hurt in one of the 4 games before the RRR (which includes games with Houston, Ohio State and TCU) and Kendall has to start, then Texas will be a much tougher contest.

I feel pretty good facing the horns led by Shannon Ukulele. I didn't see anything in that video that impressed me.

I think Charlie's a bumbling idiot in over his head. 3 OC's in as many years and he makes 5 mil per year. Nothing about him says he has any idea what to do. He was a last minute divorce settlement away from being known as Mr. February but for much different reasons than Mack was known for.

Chucky doesn't inspire confidence.

I don't know, a classier version of John Blake?
He has the resources, kind of a tradition.

He's stuck at TDC it seems.

(TDC, top dead center for you horn fans)
