How good can Matthew Hurt be?

In my best case scenario, Matthew becomes somewhat Laettneresque. He's got that beautiful perimeter shot fake down to a science, and everything he shot, I thought it was going in. Can you imagine if he hits that shot more consistently, and puts on bulk in weight room for more inside strength. He could easily be an opposing team's toughest matchup, every time we play! What do you think? What's Hurt's ceiling at Duke??? OFC

As good as Dirk Nowitzki, if he had little brother named Kirk and he wasn’t nearly as good, but was still pretty good.

He’s got plenty of time to put on enough bulk to be a monster next season, if he’s serious about doing that. When I used to do a little strengthening (curls and bench) like twice a week for ONLY like 10 min lol I’d be upping my weight on the bench by 20lbs every month. I still do it once a week or so to stay in shape. But yeah my point is I didn’t know what I was doing or have the help from Duke, and wasn’t that serious about it....and I did that sooo?

Agree that would be his normal projection but wonder how not being on campus and getting the hands on training from the staff will impact his progress

Topps good point, and you have to wonder if that will have any impact. Hopefully our kids remain just as motivated as if they were on campus w/the world class facilities and together w/one another. There's something definitely to be said for working out in groups, and competition it offers. OFC

I'm trying to think of a comparison that isn't the typical tall white guy who can shoot well, rebound some, and is a defensive liability (all listed already)....and I got nothing.

So I'll say Ryan Kelly's offense/shooting with Kyle Singler's defense, rebounding, and intangibles is the best case scenario for Matthew.

Matt scored more in his first 5 games than Joey Beard ever did at Duke. (I realize you were joking)

Maybe Andre Dawkins? That’s one I considered.

Hurt would be a monster if he stayed 4 years and put on some weight. He'd be better than Kelly.
