I believe the country is mostly moving in the right direction even though individuals are still trying to make it a "us versus them" mentality. Biggest problem is the outright lie of saying "some want more people dying because it is best to defeat Trump". That kind of mentality needs to end. Just STFU. No one wants this to continue. Criticism doesn't equate wanting the pandemic to continue just like state and local leaders not putting forth stricter regulations doesn't equate wanting the pandemic to continue.

On the good side of things:
1. Legislation has passed to help individuals and companies some financially. Won't help much economically but overall, a good thing. Much more needs to be done for short term and long term economic health but those topics are more controversial and longer discussions.
2. President's message yesterday with the April 30th date instead of Easter is the direction of his medical professionals versus his poor economical advisors. Very good and hope he stays consistent with that messaging.
3. Many states including mine need to do more with shelter in place orders very soon and that may happen now this Easter comment appears to be reduced.
4. More testing is being done and needs to continue to increase. Still need more PPE and other medical equipment. Need federal government speak honestly on that subject.
5. From my perspective, people are coming together in a community manner and is much welcomed. Hope the consideration and kindness to one another will be a permanent change for the future.

Agree on all points. I think most of the country is prepared for the next month of this. I think it's probably starting to hit home for some....I know of two people in the hospital. As for your comment about "some want more people dying because it is best to defeat Trump", I think that's shear desperation on their part to cover up how he/they were horribly and completely wrong from the beginning about this. He blew it off at first and they followed along. Now they're desperately deflecting. F'em.

Yes, I started saying it on here many weeks ago. Political commentary in this manner has to end. Problem is people have been trained to believe criticism means it is a political comment. No, it is just speaking out in an honest manner. Need to recognize problems just as quick as recognizing good decisions so the public can continue to move in the right direction. But **** like the President making stupid comments like "only 100K deaths means he is doing a good job" as that is nothing more than putting gas on the political fire. Just work on preventing as many deaths as possible at the same time make the public aware latest professional projections say there could be significant deaths. Don't try and shape the political commentary about oneself during a health crisis.

Where do you live? Here in SW Va we have very, very few cases. We could start to open a few things up. Just like in the upper peninsula of Michigan and other places in the interior of the US. The sad thing about the PPE, there was plenty of money allocated after 9/11 to stock pile emergency supplies. Wonder where it went? We know it went some where, just not where it was supposed to. Hopefully, some of the studies are promising with the use of certain drugs that give people confidence that, even if they get it, they can rely on these drugs to get better. That will change the outlook.

Maybe people are beginning to understand that the virus doesn’t respond to lies, bs, prayers, or wishful thinking. It only responds to scientific method.

The US needs to prepare for the possibility that we’ll be dealing with the virus again in the fall and winter. With hard work we may have a vaccine in the second half of 2021.

Metro Atlanta. People call it "East Cobb". It is unincorporated Cobb County which is Northwest of the city. I'm 500 yards from the city of Roswell which is in Fulton county which is the long county that starts South of the city and goes very far north of the city. A few of the metro counties are under shelter in place orders whereas others are not. That isn't good in containing this virus at all.

It is possible but hopefully in a much smaller sense. The future has yet to be decided in my opinion.

130 people in the US die everyday form drug overdose. From this time forward, it would only take 30 days to overtake CV19 in total deaths. WE are probably going to have to readjust our goals for cure cause we can't suspend economic activity more much longer.

We accept 130 OD deaths everyday, why should this be any different?

In this tread, liberals are asking conservatives not to make it political....and then makes it political...Just be thankful that they are not in charge right now...imagine how much money Clinton would be making during this pandemic.

That is one of the dumbest comments I have ever seen on this board. (And the ohio state fake liked it). trump has tried (successfully on many counts) to personally profit in every way possible from being president. You're a f'ucking moron.

Fuc#ing priceless.

The only people politicizing this pandemic are those that take issue with Trump in general. People that have been shitting the bed because of what he says for the past 4 years, "Trump said this!!!! Trump said that!!!!", meanwhile ignoring what he actually does.

"Trump's gonna ignore Fauci... Fauci is going to be fired.... Trump is gonna tell us to go back to normal by Easter and that's crazy.... Trump's not going to do what the scientists recommend..." Time and time again, wrong, wrong and wrong.

Here's a way to stop the politicizing, shut the fuc# up about Trump.

Islamic jihadist don't own the patent on terroism. Most all topics people discuss here are related. Until everyone comes to that conclusion they are missing the big picture.

ter·ror·ism
/ˈterəˌrizəm/

noun
  1. the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.
    "the fight against terrorism"

Illegals cause enough to warrant them being removed. Moving drugs is the most obvious. Terrorism killed 3,000 in one day, I guess you forgot. I also said, invading Iraq wasn't necessary. should have blockaded Iraq or just take him out.

Isn't it a shame that people need to ignore what the POTUS says because either the POTUS doesn't know what he's talking about or he's trolling or he's just flat out lying? thanks for confirming what his critics have said all along which is that the POTUS has little to no credibility.

No, he didn’t. He said he’d hope to see everything back to normal by Easter and that he hoped to see churches full. You all just read the quotes provided to you which is probably why you all behave so ignorantly. Anyone who actually listens to the comments isn’t confused about the intent of what he’s saying.

I was just about to post the same thing but you beat me to it. He was also critical when Trump suggested folks were stealing PPE in New York...joined in the CNN "outrage" then Cuomo comes out and admits it is happening and now Cuomo is the hero?

I share his sentiments about us keeping politics out of this, but why only criticism of Trump and not Pelosi or Clyburn who made their political objectives more important than helping folks in need?

Zero credibility. Thanks for pointing it out.

Agree with 1, 4 and 5 of this post. Its the last one (5) I also hope becomes our SOP, and if so then maybe that's the best outcome.

On 1 and 4 it is American freedom, entrepreneurship, and our superior Capitalist free market economy that will both respond to this threat as well as pull our economy above it.

We need to encourage more of that as well as support it as our best response.

Well I, for one, would believe you if it weren't for your massive bias and hypocrisy. Definitely not an "honest manner" when it's coming from team politics or bust, Trump-hating voter like yourself.

When all you do is spread hatred and help throw rocks from a glass house you will be viewed this way.

Trying to come on here and paint yourself like all you are doing is giving out honest, political opinion and unbiased criticism toward someone you hate, is hogwash. Like most haters, you don't even try to hide it.
