Hell.
Do I end up taking out 10 times as much garbage as I bring in. Seems like I am always taking out garbage.
Anybody else else ever notice this?
1) My first guess is that you likely buy a lot of premanned, processed "food" at the grocery instead of actual food. Most folks do. Pay attention to what others are buying at the grocery. Very little real food and tons of shiny packaging. **** food comes in boxes and bags and containers and will fill a garbage bin in a hurry.
2) We are trained consumers. We don't fix things, we don't adapt to things, we don't alter things to work for us; We just buy a new thing. Amazon boxes accounts for 50% of my recycling bin every week.
3) Recycle. We recycle more than we throw out as trash. Most everything can be recycled.
Also, you carried a single box into the house. The box contains the product and then about 20 pieces of styrofoam, some plastic wrapping, clips, straps, tape, etc... apply this logic to every package. Yes, you technically threw out more than you carried in.
