Is Illinois front four that good. I know we aren’t very good but I’m beginning to think we are beyond awful if that’s possible.
Ugh

We should blitz more, since it rhymes with Fitz.
Fitz believes JON is right. Read first so you know where the ball is, then react. Trouble is, since reacting is delayed, Mr Tackle is already planted on you. Blitzing violates the read and react defense. I thought Colby was gone but Fitz is a goof and brought back Colby 2.0 from the dead. Its not JONs fault, its Fitz fault for allowing JON to do it. JON must do something pretty good off the field because he keeps getting hired even though he is a terrible coach. Awful.

Illinois is getting pressure plus contain without blitzing. Refs are calling holds today. Don't know if that was a factor in our game.

As the announcer said they are getting pressure with just their four-man front constantly

I hope Fitz looks himself in the mirror and admit his mistake in hiring, then covering for, JON. No more of this "six consecutive shutout quarters" ********.

He’s more likely gonna offer JON a 10 year extension than look in the mirror and admit any mistakes

Ask any executive , and they will say they have made a bad hire. It's how you respond and why you are paid the salary you are.

Do you demand that the executive publicly humiliate his hire in the press?

I don't know what's happening behind the scenes, but I'm willing to see what Fitz does after the season. I'm not sure firing the dude mid-season does us any favors, and maybe Fitz wants to help him find a softer landing spot somewhere else. Publicly humiliating him and firing him mid-season probably hurts JON's future job prospects.

Never said that, those are your words. I am saying Fitz needs to make a decision, on his timeline. But he either needs to decide to keep him or let go, I would say by the last game. Based on the numbers he needs to go. As far as future job prospects, you reap what you sow. Side note his defense is humiliating enough so me thinks it’s ok.

I really don't give a sh1te about his future prospects. I was RIFd twice - once at the depths of the financial meltdown in 09 and once during the pandemic in 2020. Both were force reductions by struggling companies. In both cases I had a job before my severance ran out. JON is.a Big boy, he'll survive. PS I didn't suck at my job
