I'm afraid he will win a few games more every year and buy time since the bar is so low. 8 wins next year, everyone singing his praises because that's 2 more wins even though this season was underacheicing, then a few 9 win seasons and that's ok now, and maybe play for a big title but not win and nothing more and we end up with six years of stagnation before the old guy calls it quits and we basically got no where. Pumpers will point to improvement over a 6-7 season and how he "laid the foundation" for the next coach while others wonder why we at nebraska settled for mediocrity and called it good.
This is what I'm scared of.
What I'm hoping for is 10 years with 3 top ten finishes and at least one conference title and playoff appearance and never finishing outside the top 25 from here on out. Then a real foundation will be set, not a make believe one, for sustained success. He does that he's in the Mount Rushmore of nu coaches for a long time.
