How many high schools sell season ticket packages?

I have been at a few public schools where the best bleacher seats for the varsity games are reserved/blocked-off for pre-sold season ticket holders. Portable, cushioned seats with backs are positioned in these prime areas and we "riff-raff" are confined to regions outside the 30 or 35-yard line. Rather elitist for my tastes.

the Joliet schools have either been pre-sell or cashless, use credit card at the gate. Although Joliet West hosts a boys basketball tournament at Thanksgiving, you could pay cash at the gate.

All.... SHG has been doing it for a few years since they made upgrades to the East and West campus.

For $500.00 you get two cushy backed seats (on the 50 yard line ) and a parking pass to all home and playoff games. It's really about paying down the school debt (from the upgrades) but one gets a return other than a straight donation. They also offer $125.00 seats that the administration picks out for the buyer.

I've been getting the first package since the new stadium opened. One gets to walk in (from the tailgate lol) a minute before the game starts and pass anyone standing in line.

This section only amounts to about 10% of the seating capacity which on the home side is about 2500. So there are plenty of non reserved seats still available close to the 50 yard line for those who don't want to purchase this package. Ratsy

I haven't come across any schools that charge for regular parking. But I have been to places where for a fee you can pull your car up to the fence and tailgate next to the track...When Manteno first started football, the agreement with the district was that a certain amount of fundraising would have to be done. One fundraiser was the prime tailgating spots next to the fence. An unstated benefit of the prime tailgating spots was that security didn't pay a whole lot of attention to what was in people's coolers, which you couldn't bring in otherwise....hmmm, lots of red solo cups lol...

McNamara used to do a similar pay to park in the end zone on the track and tailgate...

I've heard that there are places that sell season tickets with reserved seating, but haven't actually come across one. Not a bad idea if the need is there for fundraising. A very common promotion around Kankakee area is the family pass, where for an up front payment of say $100 allows a family admission to all district home athletic events (not tournaments or regional). Its a great deal for families with multiple kids at different schools in different activities - many parents were hammered by having 4 kids, a boy and a girl in junior high and high school, resulting in four days a week doing a junior high game at 4:30 and a high school game at 6...

Momence has an interesting promotion due to their older stadium configuration. They have a really nice stadium for a 2A school. When it was built, there was no track, just the football field and stands. The press box structure is a freestanding multiple story building, with the second story being the "Boosters Box" and the third story the press box & coaches boxes. For the appropriate donation you can sit in the Boosters Box out of the weather...

An entertaining secondary fact about Momence's stadium: when they built the track, they had to move the football field to center it in the track - which due to site limitations is not centered on the original main stand & press box.. The 50 yard line, then, is no longer in the center of the press box. They have added three sections of stand alone bleachers over the years on the home west side, two north of the original main stands and one south, so the bleachers are more centered than the press box...

CG could use larger bleachers. They were selling reserved seating to eliminate spot protecting. They eliminated it this year. So I suppose the Varsity Football Parents will have to come early or stand to the side until after half time. When all the band and pom parents leave.
