It's crazy how the person running the grill keeps up with all the orders w/out missing a beat. And you don't pay till after you eat, honor system on what you ordered and paid for.

I'll hit that up when I'm up that way again. I'm all for stopping by good well known places. I see some of the food shows have been there. Whenever I'm close to one they feature, I try to go to it if it looks good.

Isn't Crystal better, or no? I haven't eaten at either since I was a teenager and probably never will again.

We don't eat much fast food, but my 10-year-old daughter has been asking about White Castle lately, so we treated her the other night. Couldn't decide on what to order, so we went with the value meal that offers 20 sliders and 4 fries for like $20? There are 4 of us, we had 6 sliders left. Brought them home and gave them to the dog. What horrible **** that "food" is.
Nothing like a little pancreatitis for Fido to start off the new year.

We hit it up whenever the Wife wants to shop at The Container Store nearby. We do the same, so many places up this way that's been featured on FTV or the Cooking Channel. We lead a boring lifestyle.

Nah, I think that's fun. We hit a few up out west. Cattleman's Cafe in OKC, Big Texan in Amarillo were the most notable I guess.

Lived over 30 years in Texas and never once hit up the Big Texan in Amarillo. If you're ever in OKC again, hit up Nic's for a good greasy burger. They only do breakfast and lunch, so you have to get there early as there's usually a good line for it.

Thought I had a photo of the burger I ordered, guess not.

Well, another for the list. I'll be out there this coming summer.

How long of a sitting are we talking about?

In my youth, probably close to 15-20 range. Used to be able to eat like a pig but have the metabolism to handle it, not so much nowadays. Probably could about 8-10 in a sitting, and then hate myself afterwards.

White Manna in Jersey sells sliders, much better than WC. Have eaten 4 dbls there and probably do a couple of more, their stuff is good.

If you're ever in the area, hit them up. You won't be disappointed.

F yeah, man!!!!
River Rd, Hackensack.
that's my joint.

I go to white manna after every colonoscopy. TS.

LMAO. No better place to go once you've been cleaned out and need to be filled up again.

Love the Diners in the Jersey area as well. Stopped at one that gave me so much food for such little price, felt like a garter snake that swallowed an ostrich egg afterwards.

Krystal's is awful.

Never attempted to eat an excessive amount of sliders. Chicken ring with cheese, double bacon cheese and cheese fries.

My max was 22 as a drunk and stoned 19-year-old college student. Bad idea. Early Times + 22 sliders = Pukeshits, as in both at the same time.

I might be able to put down 8 now. Never was a sober White Castle eater.

Dammit. I wanted to break out that line.

I could probably do 2 dozen back in college/my 20s. Half that now if I was really hungry.
Everyone was thinking it, just too obvious.

Probably will be going to white castle for dinner this week.

Dined at White Castle last April at the Shepherdsville restaurant off I-65. Scarfed down 4 sliders, fries and tea, T'was good.

Most sliders at one sitting = 12 when sober, 5-7 when drunk.

Favorite WC restaurant: Louisville - Bardstown Rd. Numerous drunk and stoned memories made there.

Looking forward to more WC in about 98 days or so.

Every so often I'll throw out "bait" just to see who will take the line and then, afterwards, decide where I'll go with it. Anti-hunting, Preppers and building out my own escape pod, owning inherited rental property, Kendrick Lamar,---(no BBdK, I don't listen to Kendrick Lamar and never have) and a few others over the years.

Have to say, although a number of you took the 40-50 comment as serious....I can't even figure out where to take this one. Totally stumped.

Lol, that's pathetic. 2 Sliders? More food comes with the kids meal.

I've done 10 before on a night I'd already eaten dinner. Never tried to do more when I was actually hungry. I can't eat as much as I could 8 or 10 years ago, though.

To be fair, other than the plane stories, most of us assume that is the route you are going.

There's a dude who lives in my neighborhood who lives by himself in one of the nicest houses, has a brand new Lexus LS4-something, is a big-time corporate sales guy, is a UK fan, and weighs approximately 450 lbs. I'm pretty sure he could put down 40 sliders over two hours. I was thinking he might have been you.

Weight really isn't a great predictor of binge eating capabilities.

They certainly can coexist....but over the years most people I've met who could really plow some food down were of average build.

They're blessed with the "Chestnut Gut", if you will. I just made that up so please cite me as a source for any future use of that term.

I agree with you, but then Wett said he did this over a couple of hours. You don't get to be 450 by binge eating for 10 minutes a few times a day. It's a process.

About 7-8 with a side of their fries which come in only one size.

That is incorrect about the fries. They at least have a large fries they label as a "sack of fries" I think.

In my mind, I can eat a dozen. But the reality is that 5 or 6 is it. I don't understand why. They aren't big at all. They are delicious, about every other month or once a quarter.

8 here...Back in the mid 80's we had a white castle eat off where I worked (DuPont). This was done when each shift was working night work. There was 4 shifts and lunch was about an hour per person. Rule was they all had to be eaten during the two hr lunch period. My shift won eating 1050 whites castles. One guy ate 50 AND drank a 2 liter bottle of big red. I called white castle at 7th and Berry to order our 1050 three days in advance. They had extra cooks in on the night we picked em up. There was 4 guys working in our powerhouse that averaged weighing 350 apiece..They were good for 20 apiece, i thought they could eat more..The guy that ate the 50 went about 190...This is a very true story and if you know anybody the worked at Dupont in Louisville back then ask them about the eat off..Byron Crawford heard about it and wanted to come on site and do a story about it but our plant manager would not allow that..
The people in that part of town complain enough as it is about the emissions from that plant. I'm sure this contest didn't help. Probably why they didn't want any publicity, just more fuel for the fire.

Yeah, they made liars of the Beastie Boys. Hopefully MCA died before the big sizes came out. *pour out malt liquor*
