If anyone is ever in CT, need to hit up these two places.

Ted's Restaurant in Meridan, CT: Damn good steamed burgers.

Those actually 2 different burgers, one was some California style burger, both were excellent.

Louis' Lunch - New Haven, CT: Allegedly where the burger began. Small place, very quaint. Surprisingly excellent potato salad.

Not sure what happened to some of my photos from this place. Stole a few from Yelp to show what it's like at Louis.

Also going to add White Hut in West Springfield, Mass. Not as good as the other two, still not too bad.

I've considered a trip from NYC to New Haven/Meriden just to try Ted's...

...and Louis's, and Pepe/Sally.

Quite a little food mecca around there, apparently.

They sell those Steamed Cheeseburger trays/boxes btw, almost bought one no telling how many times.

New Haven's not a bad little area, Yale is a real nice campus, plus the food you've mentioned.

The chick that worked at Ted's recommended this place in NH for pizza. We were so gung-ho for Sally's and Pepe's that we didn't get a chance to go. Others in line at those two also raved about it. We'll try and hit it up next trip down there.

If we're doing best burgers, I present you Rusty's Deli in Charlotte, NC. My brother and I get a burger and cheesesteak and then split them. Unreal. The key to it is that they sauté chopped onions in sweet pickle juice and serve them on the burgers and steaks.

Best burger I've had… Butter Burger - Butter Restaurant, Manhattan

I've never eaten more than a dozen White Castles, but I could.

I rarely go there when I'm not drunk, but my order would be 2 double cheese, onion chips and a sack of fish nibblers.

Favorite White Castle nickname?
1. skillet scabs
2. rectum rockets

Nice pics.

It appears a "Best Burger You've Ever Tasted" thread might have serious potential in the not-so-distant future.

Probably not fair seeing as you have Whataburger, Dan's, Sandy's there in Austin. There's plenty of good Mom&Pop places up this way, only problem is some have an issue with seasoning, like none. Still, their burgers are pretty good and juicy. And several are only seasonal, so we're stuck with the FF or Red Robins of the world.
