How much will the win over UL increase UK fan attendance at the bowl? Are you going?

I have to admit that had UL beat UK, particularly if it was by the expected 27 point whupping the oddsmakers had predicted, that my enthusiasm about attending UK's bowl game was de minimis. Somehow, traveling to Shreveport, Louisiana or Birmingham, Alabama to watch a 6-6 UK team didn't excite me all that much. What a difference a huge upset win over UK's arch rival on their home field does for changing one's attitude and motivation about attending UK's bowl game. I'm curious as to how many of you feel the same way.

Of course, it is only my speculation, but I think UK's win over Louisville will increase UK fan attendance at its bowl game by 15,000-20,000 or more depending on which bowl UK gets assigned. The Music City Bowl would likely draw the most UK fans because of its close proximity and entertainment venues. Knowing how UK fans support their athletic teams on the road, I am sure the officials of the Music City Bowl are lobbying the SEC Commissioner's office to have UK selected for its bowl. Regardless, I am now going to the bowl game wherever it is located. Anyone else now going to UK's bowl game when they weren't inclined to do so before the win over Louisville?

If we play a name team in Nashville, there will be 50,000 UK fans. Similar numbers for Jacksonville. Liberty bowl or Belk Bowl would be less, but I could still see 30,000 there.

Nashville wants UK. I was looking at hotels near the stadium and they are already booked up. I doubt any school other than UK would book those rooms before the teams were announced.

somehow someway everyone started getting their hopes up and when we lost due to conservative play to UGA.... the excitement seemed to die down some and even more when we played god awful in the first quarter against AP.... yeah we blew them out but that first quarter was so bad it depressed a lot of people... But this win won everyone back... got the excitement back in the air.

Selfishly hoping for the TaxSlayer bowl in Jacksonville since i live in SWFL. Would love the Outback, but don't think that is a possibility

Wish I could go to bowl game no matter where it is, but work will keep me from going every year. Unless we get a new year's day bowl some year, that I could go to.

If it's Nashville, I'm going. Anywhere else, I just can't swing it. I can't do an overnight trip this year. However, I think it will be well attended no matter what. Such a big win in the eyes of the fans.

Downtown hotels in Nashville stay booked...it's why they can charge $350-500/ night, every night. Unless you've got money to burn you're much better off staying near the airport or Cool Springs area.

Already booked a room in Nashville. Probably wouldn't go anywhere else other than Memphis which isn't being mentioned anymore.

It's gotta be better than the last Music City Bowl trip (2009). That was miserable. I'm not sure I'm fully thawed out ... and I was drinking a lot of bourbon.

Looking at SEC sports page, and all the scenarios, it could be Memphis and the Liberty Bowl vs. TCU/Gary Patterson. One hour away from Oxford for the basketball game and different day.

Sounds like Music City likes Georgia, and TaxSlayer likes UT.

Beating USC & Vandy was huge this year in slotting us higher.

I will be in the area for the Holidays. If it's in Nashville I just might go, and yes it's almost certain I would have never considered it had we lost to UL. I'm hoping for UK/Iowa in the MCB!

That would be a really fun matchup.

MCB is a 2:30 game, which is perfect because being from the Louisville area, it's a day trip for me. No need for a hotel.

Location plays a big role I think. Nashville would be gold. Charlotte, Detroit not so much.

If we can turn it into Catlanta for three days, surely we could make it Catlotte for one.

Guilty.....we have booked rooms in 3 cities, and plan on canceling 2 of them. Two in Tennessee and the other in NC. Hopefully one of them is a hit.

Nice thing about being retired, is, I don't care where or when, I'll be there, then on to Bonita Springs, Florida for fishing until April, then back to Kentucky to hunt turkeys. Someone's got to do it, so it might as well be me.
