Staring at 75 on the 22nd. In the words of the immortal Mickey Mantle, " if I knew I'd live this long, I would have taken better care of myself. "
Am I the oldest here? I can't get used to seeing seniors with scooters, wheelchairs and walkers and realizing most are younger than me. Finding it difficult to combat isolation. Looking forward to the season so I can start some arguments. ;)
I'm older, but not by much.

What has kept me going is keeping active ... still do yard work with no riding mower, still play golf and walk the courses that don't have next tees too far from the last green, still play pickleball.

Same here. Turned 58 in June. Just suffered through my first prostate surgery and learned I needed a new hip. It’s hard getting old.
Hips are much easier than knees. In four weeks you should be walking without a walker or cane. Get some Sketcher slipins so you won’t have to worry about tieing your shoes.

65 - have a new right shoulder and four new disks in my neck. Still active and physical. Walk three miles up and down hills every day.

Mostly though......I'm happy when I walk in room and remember what I went in there for!

I can look at my high school class on classreport.com and see that 15% have passed away. The number is probably higher than that because all deaths aren't reported. It's a bit sobering.
What really hits me is when a teammate passes....in the 70s we felt invincible we could accomplish anything together....seems we forgot time waits for no one!

"Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes." When you reach my age it's narrowed down to the goodbyes.
It's given when you reach my age that parents, aunts and uncles, in laws etc. are long gone. But my wife, all three of my assistants from when I coached and several rival coaches that I grew close to and met for lunch every two weeks are deceased as well.
My sons and their families reside in Charlotte so there's that.
I still work part time overseeing a public school athletic league. That's pretty much the extent of my social interaction.
Some have advised I join a club, but frankly, I've grown to despise the elderly.;)
Everything was great for me till 2016....making money, wonderful wife, successful kids, bought a new family homestead.....3 months later I was taking chemo and radiation treatments....was sliced and diced but am in remission....had both knees replaced, left hip replaced, kidney failure, back surgery....now they are worried about my neck and shoulders. I am done with being cut apart and if I pass....no more taxes! I wonder if i still must pay the annual fee to read premium content when I pass?

Those were the days my friend....we thought they'd never end!
After my wife died I read somewhere that when we're young we hear melodies and as we age and encounter grief, we listen to the lyrics.
For instance...."something in the way she moves, attracts me like no other lover." I never really heard those words, although like everyone here I heard the music countless times. But looking back, they have such meaning to me. One day after losing my wife, I "heard" those lyrics and realized that they accurately portrayed how I felt about her.

Interesting you wrote that....I had an older brother that was killed 1972. Of course my parents were distraught in grief so many daily functions fell to me. Billy Joel's piano man album was my refuge....and the lose of my brother caused me to listen to the words and reflect. They say there are two types of music listeners....those that associate with the tune and those that hear the lyrics. Thank you for sharing your post as I now know others have experienced the same as I.

Perspective is underrated. What you see has everything to do with where you are standing.

I remember just before my son’s freshman year at PSU the York chapter of the alumni association had a get together at a Revs game for all new students from the York area. When we arrived my family and I were checked in by this nice older woman. Just as she was finishing with us I noticed on her name tag that this nice older woman graduated three years after me. I had to go sit down for a while.
