Martin will be coach for at least next year. Tanner will give him one more chance to turn things around.
Yep. And things will sound good at first. But we’ll be short handed. Suspensions or injuries. Lose a game or two we shouldn’t. Struggle early. Beat a decent team. Lose to Clemson. Start 0-3 in SEC play. Hover around 2-3 games under .500 in conference play all season. Beat someone we shouldn’t at home. Win a few games and get to .500. Finish the season with around 19-20 wins and 11-12 losses. Get knocked out on Thursday in the SEC Tournament. This “progress” will give Tanner reason for yet another season…

Want me to tell how that one goes too?

Probably. The question: what are you going to do in Year 11 that you haven’t been able to do in 9 of the previous 10?

It would be totally foolish to bring Frank back to give him one last shot. This team is obviously more than a year away so one more year doesn’t make sense.

I interpret the above to mean that Tanner will be "forced by the BOT" to give him another year.
The BOT is our main problem, not the AD. This IMO has been the problem at Carolina for many years. Been a fan since 1970 us what I'm basing my thoughts.

Ha, looking in my crystal ball, I think I see how you feel the next year will play out too.

I will say Monday. At least that way it will look like some thought was put into it and it wasn't the plan since last season.
Nope. Not until after RT has his end-of-school-year annual reviews with all head coaches.

He won't be. If the NCAA is the only measure, then maybe so, but it's not. We've had winning seasons in conference I believe the last 5 out of 7 seasons or some such. Not happening unless he decides to go. If he lands GG, he most certainly won't be out.

GG would save him, but I'm not betting on him coming.

Martin is not going to be let go this year. He has one of the best recruiting classes in a long time coming in, and this years team won 18 games. Not sure who would want to come to a program that fires it's coach after being very sick the year prior, then to have his team win 18 games and 9/9 in the conference when it was expected to finish at the bottom.

Sometimes we need to look at the bigger picture, then to make judgement calls after a bad loss.

Except that we've been down this road before. Feels like false hopes.

Sunday? Monday?
Georgia has a head start on the hiring process.
It is being reported on Twitter that Cuonzo Martin is out at Mizzo and reports are that Mike White will be let go at UF. Kermit Davis may also be out at Ole Miss. Georgia, SC and Florida will be searching the same pool of candidates.

Heard White to Ole Miss about a month ago - maybe the rumor ends up being true! It will be one of the first that actually did.
